Bourbon Summit Spoof on SNL

Happened to be up last night after watching my Mizzou Tigers squeak by the Aggies and watched SNL for the first time in ages. There was a spoof of President Obama and Sen McConnell having a bourbon summit - the bourbon on the table was Woodford Reserve and they went through a bottle and 1/2 half. Keeping politics out of this discussion, what Bourbon do you think should be served at the Bourbon Summit?

My vote for a readily available Bourbon with a "statesman like gravitas" is 4 Roses Single Barrel although there is also something to be said for something like Old Forester Signature - or maybe even the new OF 1870. I'd hate for the politicians to feed the frenzy further by choosing a Pappy or a BTAC.

I saw that last night and thought it was great.

To answer your question, I think they both deserve to drain a bottle and a half of Cleveland Bourbon.

Obama is a beer drinker, so it would be funny to give him a neat 2014 WLW at 140.2 ABV. If he gave a cringe-worthy pucker faced reaction on camera, maybe people would see that and not be so jazzed to get their hands on a bottle because they read about it in a magazine.

Hmmmm, good point. Who can we get to arrange this?

I remember back in 2008, the Presidential Select game forth through Greek columns riding a tidal wave of support, but over the next 6 years he turned out to be an Old Blowhard and nowadays seems to be a Lost Prophet who must drink bourbon with republicans. So sad.

Any NDP would do. The similarities between the lack of transparency of the president's office and these bourbons seems suitable.

"Jeffersons Presidential Select"

Somebody had to post it.

I vote Jefferson Ocean.

Toss them both on a raft, then we can send someone out to check them for improvements every year or so.
