For those looking to save some cash, but wanting a selection of glencairns for larger tastings, I tried out the bellemain glasses from amazon...$18.90 (prime price) for 6, and they're nearly identical to the glencairn. The base just feels ever so slightly more rounded or something....http://www.amazon.com/Bellemain-Oz-Whisky-Glass-Set/dp/B00IAVQMCG/ref=sr_1_6?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1416509709&sr=1-6&keywords=glencairn

That's a nice find!

I guess I'm old school, but how about a bunch of whiskey? I've been dropping hints for a store select KCSB 120 proofer. It's not expensive, but Mrs. Jvd99 likes to buy bottles I haven't tried yet.

Don't forget these! They work amazingly well.

Yes, these do. Got them last year. SO, when I get given a bourbon that is (a) too hot, (B) not to my liking neat, etc., I use one of these. I keep a big spoon nearby to fish it out - is much easier than trying to manage multiple cubes especially on the second or third round.

sailor22, good book. I am up to the chapter where they start talking about the regions. I bought it to learn about other whiskeys besides bourbon (while cheering for bourbon to win all the way!). I think it will make a great book for someone wanting to learn about bourbon and/or whiskey.

I am asking for a coupe glass for my Manhattans. Last year I received a great stirring spoon from Cocktail Kingdom.
