Dave43
I'm new to the bourbon scene. Started my collection around 4 years ago. At that time the shelves were empty. The last month or so has been encouraging with an abundance of ETL, OWA, Baby Saz, Ritt BIB, etc.. On the shelves. I hope other markets are seeing the same. flahute
To be honest, I cannot remember the last time I saw any of those bottles here in central KY.I have seen all these bottles here in Washington State in the past couple weeks, but I wouldn't come close to calling them abundant, and they aren't all at the same store. mbroo5880i
I don't know where Dave lives nor do I contemplate the future of bourbon based on availability or pricing from a single distillery. Particularly because there are so many factors involved in availability and pricing. However, I do share his perspective that the future is bright. Sure, availability of BT products is sporadic and prices across all brands continue to increase. However, there are still many bourbons that I enjoy in the sub-$30 range. They may not be some of the favorites that just a few years back were also in that range but they are still very good and quality bourbons. As long as these are available at a fair price until inventory issues and the "craze" ends, I will be happy. However, looking into the future, increasing global demand aside, I am confident that additional quality product will continue to become available. I still see tightening inventories for a few more years but then things should get better. Meanwhile, I can still walk into a store and walk out with something I enjoy, even if it is not the same bottle I would leave with in the past. While the "craze" is frustrating to the enthusiast, you have to admit there are some cool new products coming to the market and more on their way. To me, that means the future looks bright too!
