I'm curious to hear what everyone has for their last pour of 2014 and first pour of 2015. Mine are still up in the air! Have to wait and see where the night goes.

It'll be a Buffalo Trace kinda night for me. All ready lined up and ready to go are BT, ETL, Weller 12, OWA, and my New Years pour: 2007 WLW.

Cheers, and Happy New Year to one and all!

Joe

FWIW, on the last day of the year, and as luck would have it, I got off work a couple of hours early today. :woohoo:Sooooooooo, I got an early start. :P

Today it was a gifted MM46 while I cleaned rugs (while the cats sat there like vultures, waiting for me to finish so they could repair their handiwork). Tonight, Abe Bowman Vanilla finish although that Seelbach sounded good, and I happen to have a split in the bar fridge. If I'm awake . . .

Harry, you are SO spot on about the cats.

I'm starting with Blanton's SFTB. Haven't decided on the final and first for the new year but I'm leaning towards my final pour of PVW15 from last year.

I doubt I will make it to midnight so the new will likely wait until tomorrow. The old tonight so far has been a 2012 Lot B (old old), SB.com HHSSII, and ETLC. The latter two were two of my faves this past year, along with ECBP but I don't have an open bottle of that one right now.

Enjoying head to head 17/94s ... closing out the JPS 17 and popping open the V 17. Nose on the JPS is good as ever, though taste seems hotter than I recall. V 17 looks darker, goes in soft but gets even hotter even quicker. (Perhaps I'm the one getting older.). Happy New Year, y'all.

Last pour of 2014 was a glass of Woodford Reserve. Tasty! First of 2015? That remains to be seen...

HHSS.2. Fitting for the end of a rather good year.

Waiting on the first, hardly ever see midnight nowadays.

I didn't have anything to drink last night, but the night before I terminated the last two pours of a bottle of ECBP with extreme prejudice. This was a good one, though the amount of time it took me to finish the bottle would indicate that I prefer Stagg Jr by a wide margin. Now if only they made a barrel proof Henry McKenna 10 year, THAT would be quite the pour.

Some tea, I am lucky enough to get the flu for the new year, and it hit me hard since Sunday, did manage to put a wee bit of EWW in my tea though, that was actually not bad.

Last 2 pours were 2014 OFBB and 4R LE SmB and then a simple sip of gratitude after midnight with ETL.

worked a 15 hour day yesterday, and went to a friends new years party when I got off at 9-ish. There was tons of wine, and three whiskies....an EC12, a RHF, and a Ri1. Ive never had the latter two, so I had those. I gave no thought to what was the last pour of the year, but it was the Ri1. I liked the RHF, didnt care for the Ri1.

a friend there gave me a bday present too....a JB Rye. Never had that either, but I expect it to just be relabeled Overholt, which is my most disliked drink to date. Any comments on wnhat to expect?

Happy New Years, guys!

I think the JB Rye might be four years instead of three, but if you didn't like the Ri1, you probably won't like the JB Rye.

RHF is probably BT's best regularly available rye-recipe bourbon IMHO.

plus, it's 80 proof. that should just be illegal.
