doubleblank
I was making my regular liquor store run today when I saw a sign on the Bourbon aisle that Mr. Lee is coming to Houston to talk Bourbon, sign bottles and, hopefully, share a drink or two with us. He'll be at Spec's downtown location from 3 to 6 pm. I guess I'll be buying everything Buffalo Trace makes this Thursday........not a bad idea anyway....and get him to sign it and talk about them. There's a rumor that the Stagg will also arrive Thursday.DoubleBlank
kitzg
You'll be lucky on both counts. Elmer T. Lee is a fine and most personable fellow. And the new G T Stagg is quite a bourbon!
texascarl
Nice! Tell him I said 'Thanks'. I always liked that downtown Spec's. When I lived in Houston I made it a point to drive over there as often as possible.
doubleblank
Mr. Lee was very interesting and quite the gentleman. Spec's was pouring samples of Weller Antique, BT and, of course, E.T. Lee. I got my signed, personalized bottle of ET Lee for the collection. He said he likes his bourbon on the sweeter side and that character shows up in the ET Lee vs Blantons, etc. Bad new for us Houstonians.....we're getting 9 whole bottles of Stagg.DoubleBlank
wadewood
I'm in Houston over Thanksgiving week and made trip down to Specs yesterday. I bought a bottle of BT, Eagle Rare 17YO, and......snagged the only bottle of 2003 Stagg they had on shelf
