Do you pour every night?

I sure as hell try to!

But sometimes, lesser issues that need tending to do most unfortunately arise and end up deflecting my attention (as well as limiting my drinking time). But no worries, I am tremendously dedicated to the task at hand and strive to minimize any external influences at all times!

So... I figure I'm drinking at least one three finger pour each Monday, Wednesday and Friday on odd weeks. Then, again on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday on even weeks. Or maybe I got them turned around? Oh well, at least every Saturday and Sunday... and probably all holidays.

Is today a holiday? :icon_pidu:

I'll go overboard if my favorite team is playing.

I'll second that. If my team is playing and it's a close game to the end I lose track of the pours.

I have noticed this effect as well. Sometimes in the fall or spring when it's nice out, if I get home from work at a decent hour I'll have one pour on the patio first thing and THEN get on with my evening and that doesn't seem to disrupt my sleep cycle as much.

My safe window seems to be finishing my drink three hours (or more) before I go to bed. And it isn't that I have horrible sleep, but definitely more restless. I just try to make up for it on the weekends ;)

From many years ago until May 2014, I was rockin' the bourbon party eight days a week. Then, May 2014-November 2014, no hooch at all every other day...which got challenging, so I'm now whiskey one night, non-whiskey the next, then alcohol-free the night after, then repeat the cycle. There's always something to look forward to.

And next I'd like to know how often you all go to church, brush your teeth or change your underwear.

I *try* to either attend service or look up the USCCB Readings once per week. (If I miss a week, how many "Hail Elmers" is that?)

Currently 0-2 nights a week. When times are busy and my stress level is higher, I tend to drink less; with this kitchen renovation, I've been down to 0 or 1 night per week. When my life is less hectic, 1-4 nights a week. Heavier, chewier, complicated bourbons in the winter, lighter simpler stuff in the summer.

Interesting thread, wondered how my consumption rate compared with others on this forum. I typically have a 1-2 pours, 4 to 5 nights a week.

I travel a lot, and spend more than half my year working on ships where there's no alcohol allowed, so when I'm off and have access to my whiskey, I like to have at least 3 pours a night, mostly because I'm exploring the releases I bought while I was away.

I don't mind going without at sea. But it's better at home :)

Mine fluctuates a ton, sometimes nightly for a stretch and then a week or two will pass without a drink, and then I'll go a long stretch of 2-3 night per week. Depends on work, stress, kids, wife, exercise (sometimes don't get to it until late, and don't like to drink before), social events, season, etc. When I do drink it is whisky 80-85% of the time. Beer some nights or at social events. Wine rarely. Other spirits even less. Bourbon is 1-2 fingers neat in a glen cairn. Beer is typically 12oz at home, or 4-5 pints if I'm out. I enjoy it all!

After I first tried bourbon in December I was having 1 or 2 pours 6 or 7 nights a week. Now it is closer to 3 to 5 days a week.

Something, generally many things every night of the week. What, is this a baking or home and garden site now?

If all I had was one or two pours a week I'd give it up because it would no longer be a hobby much less an obsession.

For more than half the year I work on ships where no alcohol is permitted. When I'm off, I pour probably 6 nights a week, but am also exploring rum. Probably 4-5 pours a night, unless out on the town, in which case probably one at a restaurant.

Like some others have noted re: postings anyplace on the internet, I consider anything on the internet as possibly readable by others I wouldn't want to share with and available forever. For the record, one or two a night, every night, (usually two) unless I'm on meds (scrupulous about not doing pills and booze) or am sick. I count up to 2 oz. of spirits, up to 6 oz. of wine, and 12 oz. of beer (unless I'm "sessioning" w/a <5%er) as "one". When I'm out, I have no more than one without, or two with, a meal then switch to ginger ale and may have bourbon neat when I get home if wherever we went didn't have good bourbons available.

I have been known to exceed these but not when I'm out and driving and not so much any more. Of course, when reading SB late at night, sometimes an irresistible impulse hits me and . . .:drink:

I used to pour every night. No more than two in an evening. I just don't have the disposable income to indulge the way I used to. I still love my whisk(e)y of all kinds, but I've had to put it on the shelf, so to speak, for a bit. I still buy a bottle every few weeks, but I drink more beer now...lol.

During the week depending on work and daddy duties it could be twice a week. The weekends are a yes and when I'm off from work for a few days then it's most likely every day. Usually one double.
