Artisan Grain Distillery starts bourbon production

My apologies for being late to the party.

Artisan Grain Distillery, one of Iowa's newest craft distillery's has just been approved to post at Straight Bourbon dot com. Thanks to all involved.

I would love to invite everyone to visit our distillery, and taste our products.

Our primary focus is on hand crafted whiskey products, distilled from our own farm raised grains, brewed in the traditional open fermentation vessels, which underscores the local Davenport, Iowa flare.

Davenport was once the gateway to the west with the first railroad bridge across the Mississippi river, bringing whiskey to the new frontier. Abraham Lincoln once stood on these grounds and drank whiskey strait from the barrel he held over his head.

We have started our whiskey offerings with unaged Corn Whiskey, then later this Winter start putting to bed Bourbon for a leisurely 5 year maturation in the traditional 53 barrel.

You lost me at Abraham Lincoln, and your decision not to tell us who you are. On the other hand, I never knew ol' Abe drank his whiskey the exact same way I do. And you regained me somewhat at 53 (assuming gallon) barrels. See ya in 5 years! :grin:

Welcome! Props for putting your bourbon to bed for 5 yrs (and in a 53 barrel)! So many new craft distilleries are rushing products out (which I understand the cash flow pressures they're facing - trust me!), but thus far I think everyone has proved that there aren't really proven methods to "accelerate" maturation. Look forward to trying the bourbon in 5 years!
