TunnelTiger Posted February 3, 2015 Share Posted February 3, 2015 Reading one of Chucks latest blog and some of his readers comments I realized I've never heard mention of a Proofing Hydrometer in any SB post.So my questions are:Does anyone own a proofing hydrometer, do you use it, and how often do you use it?If you use it do you notice a difference in tested proof versus labled proof or distiller verus NDP? Enoch Posted February 4, 2015 Share Posted February 4, 2015 I picked these up at the local Brew Supply Store for about $30 and use them on occasion when vatting or infusing. I have tested a few bourbons and generally find them spot on. Not sure how accurate it is when infusing because I am not sure of impact of particulate matter.
