R-Savage
Hey All:I have seen this bourbon in a couple of stores, but cant really find any real information on this. Perhaps you guys/gals can help. It's an 82 proof bourbon, no age on the bottle. Has anyone tried this? what are your thoughts???the bill is 75% Corn, 20% Rye, 5% Barley Malt.I tried searching for this on the forum and so far I found nothing. Is this worth the buy? tanstaafl2
Same NDP that does Redemption High Rye Bourbon and the MGP sourced Redemption Rye isn't it? A young sourced bourbon at low proof which doesn't inspire much enthusiasm. The mashbill, if that is correct, is the same as the low rye "E" recipe Four Roses bourbon but I can't imagine they are still selling stock at present unless they have a contractual obligation they can't get out of. The MGP bourbon mashbill is 75/21/4.
squire
Rob that is one of the Four Roses mash bills but even if the information is correct it still doesn't tell us much. What is telling is the label says Straight Bourbon with no mention of Kentucky. Advertising emphasizes the use of corn (duh) in the mashbill.Lack of an age statement tells us it's young, label shows low proof (just two points over the minimum), the bottle is pretty and the price is twice that of Heaven Hills' various BIBs. Tourist whisky.
tanstaafl2
MGP not Four Roses and apparently they can't even get the mashbill correct on the label. I doubt MGP is making one especially for them! Or maybe it once was FR and they just haven't bothered to update it.
wadewood
This says Distilled in IN right on the label so it's LDI. It's also says it's 3 years old. Pass!
squire
Hahahahaha. Still, must give them credit for disclosure, even if slightly inaccurate.
R-Savage
Thanks for the info guys. Up here in alberta I "think" this was going for about 60.00. I thought this maybe a Basil Hayden Case. Great Bourbon at 80 proof type thing.

Harry in WashDC
. . . The MGP bourbon mashbill is 75/21/4. Yup. MGP website lists that as one of their standard bourbon mash bills. The label says 20% rye. Maybe the NDP was rounding down? They rounded the age to more than 2 years instead of saying "Aged two years and a day or so". Chris m
Thanks for the info guys. Up here in alberta I "think" this was going for about 60.00. Yeeesh. This is a $20 bottle and it's not even worth that. It tastes terrible.
