Hey guys, has any one out there ever tried JB's Old tub which is sold in their GS? I bought a bottle of it mainly as a novelty and because it's a BiB, but really never thought about cracking it, until recently. I also bought a bottle of their Stillhouse brand , and cracked that, and I must say pretty smooth for what it is.

I got a bottle a couple years ago and tasted it next to OGDBIB. Old Tub is spicier than Jim Beam but not as spicy as OGD. It was pretty good but I liked OGD better

A comparison tasting of Old Tub and the new Beam BIB would be interesting.

I'm planning just this as soon as I pick up.a bottle of the BIB

I really enjoyed the Old Tub. Once I opened it I kept going back to it. I don't recall any particular notes that stood out. Just damn good whiskey. Based on that, I'm excited to try the new bonded Beam when I see it. A comparison of the two is highly anticipated, as has been noted in this thread.

I also got a ton of funk from the OT, I get that big time in white label and even more in OT

I don't get it as much in other Beam products so YMMV. Probably will not be doing the Beam BIB unless its sub $20

I usually get that funk flavor only in Jim Beam labeled bottles, but I opened a bottle of Bookers with some buddies a while back that seemed to have it in spades. Never tasted it in another bottle of bookers or any other beam small batch, so hopefully it was just an off bottle.

Also, I don't think I would mind it as much had the mid 1990s not been a blur of JB white label and coke for me in college.
