I know there are bits and pieces about this topic all over these forums, but I'm hoping someone can shed some light on the most recent developments. Within the last 6 months TPS has stopped carrying the HH BIB line- they told me HH has discontinued all of it. HH tells me only the Gold BIB is discontinued.

Does anyone know which products in the HH-branded lineup are still being bottled and where I can find some? I can't seem to find HH BIB ANYWHERE.

FRUSTRATED! :hot:

HH BIB 6-yr is definitely still being made. It's pretty easy to find in Indiana. That one and the green label 80-proof/36 month version are the only ones distributed here, so I dunno about the rest of the line. Lots of discussion in this thread:

Go down to Stadium Liquor. They have 3 cases left as of yesterday.

Thanks for the lead, Chris!

Kenny, Heaven Hill is just responding to current market conditions. Years ago no one could have predicted the booming popularity Bourbon enjoys today, Bourbon sales were sagging and distillers had to find solutions. For instance Stitzel-Weller made good whisky but sales didn't justify the costs of refurbishing the place

Heaven Hill had the resources to create a bunch of different brands to appeal to different segments of the market. Using the same mashbill they created or reissued old brands in 4-6-7-8-10-12 year iterations in 80-86-90-94-100 proofs. It wasn't that long ago we could buy a 12 year old 86 proof HH label for $8.00 a bottle and a BIB for not much more. Now all that's changed, stocks of aged Bourbon are depleted, major producers are scrambling to keep up with demand and HH is no exception.

To their credit HH still provides a good number of high proof expressions at a good price. I can get at least four (EWW, Dant, Fighting Cock and Virgin) within a short drive from my house but that's because there's always been a market for them regionally and due to restrictive stocks you chaps farther away from the Deep South have to be content with the leftovers of what's not already spoken for.

It does appear though HH is launching Evan Williams White label BIB nationwide so there's that.

Great input and info, Squire. Appreciate it. I lived in Dayton for years and had easy access to all this stuff. Now I'm back home in California and, well, the selection is terrible. But I'm back in Dayton on business once a month and I always try and get down to Covington. In fact, I'll be in town on Monday. I plan on heading to Stadium liquor for some HH BIB. Funny you should mention Dant, I've been meaning to give that a go. People seem to really like it at the price point.

And, yes. EW BIB is FINALLY starting to show up on shelves in California.
