dcbt
Another lawsuit, this one regarding naming similar to the Duke one recently, except the Hollywood guy is suing HH. Good luck with that.(Sidenote: They're making a Beverly Hills Cop 4? Is that really necessary?)http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/thr-esq/brett-ratner-sues-protect-his-770793
smokinjoe
When I first read the subject line, I thought Harold Hecuba was involved...
garbanzobean
I read about this yesterday. I believe the lawsuit is in response to a cease and desist letter from Heaven Hill, and that the evil Hollywood types have a point in stating that they were able to register a trademark with no issues, while Heaven Hill has been pretty studious in objecting to product likenesses in the past. My guess is that accommodations will be reached and the suit will get dropped or settled out of court.
shoshani
"Consistent with this label, it was planned that marketing for the Branded whiskey product would associate the product with the heritage of the Hollywood of the 1920s and 1930s"I would love to see a whiskey product associated with the heritage of the Hollywood of the 1920s. There was soooo much whiskey on retail shelves in Hollywood during the 1920s.
squire
Sure Michael, so would I, yet the question arises do the words Hilhaven Lodge evoke an image of Holywood in any era? Sunset Blvd, perhaps.
TheNovaMan
Until I read the article, I had never heard of Hilhaven Lodge. What a stupid idea for a brand.
