The rest of their interesting inventory has now been priced to the level of the secondary market.

That's been my experience with TWE as well. After shipping costs, the prices are about the same as secondary.

I was at the Whisky Exchange last week. It's a pretty great store. Most times I go to look, but it's where I got my 4RSmB125, since I got my bourbon buying crap together too late to catch it in the States. Also bought my Blanton's Gold there. Their wine shop next door is officially our wine store now. I definitely need their advice on wine and I'm not taking that field on anytime soon, so it's nice to be able to get the help of the great people in there.

They're located in the middle of a beautiful marketplace area right next to the London Bridge Underground and National Rail stations.

TWE is pretty easy and straightforward to deal with, if expensive. My only complaint with them is an experience in late 2012. I ordered a Port Ellen sherry cask from 1982 for several hundred dollars, 300 maybe. The order went through, I received the confirmation and invoice via email. Then I received an email from them saying the item was sold out and they wanted to know if they could replace it with anything. I took a Glenfarclas 40 year because that was a great price for that bottle, but 24 hours later the Port Ellen was back on the website for a new price close to 500. I thought that was dirty pool, and I've not done much business with them since then.

never had a problem with them. have got some great bottles from them, like the 4r 125. like others have said, the bottle to get from them is the blanton's sftb.

it was crazy to watch the 4r SiLE disappear in about 2 seconds after the annoucement from four roses

That article seems to suggest TWE store might stay there or at least in the area even though the annual Whisky Show has moved on. And it would likely have no effect on the online business.
Yeah, I think a rep already told a FB group that TWE's website wasn't going anywhere. They would seriously have to be the worst at business ever to not be raking in plenty of profit.

By the end of the year I'm sure they'll have their plan fully sorted out on where they're moving their storefront to. I'll just take a deep breath and be patient.

Well I just got an email from TWE and they don't deliver to Canada. :bs:

Yeah, I saw that. Once again, our provincial governments are protecting us from ourselves. I am so glad that they are taking such good care of us. I did think about getting it shipped to New York State (as I'm an hour away), then driving down and giving the customs agent the wink and a nod, but now it is just seeming like work. That said, there are some fun looking deals up there.

You have one of the best whisky retailers in North America right there in Alberta. If you are in or near Calgary go to Kensington Wine Market, if not, contact Andrew Ferguson at the store. There is a very good chance if a bottle you want isn't available, he can get it for you. I believe shipping within the province is allowed, so you can also order from the store.

Thanks guys for TWE info. Just ordered FRsingle LE for a lot less than I was going to purchase it for on the secondary market. They were out of Blantons SFTB though:(

I was all ready to grab a bottle of Lost Prophet (I've never had a 20+ year old bourbon, and have heard this is decent for the price), but with the word of mouth I've been hearing for Forged Oak, I might give it a try instead. About half the price for a bourbon of similar (if younger-tasting) quality? Nice.

I know the ONE thing that caught my eye was a couple of Kits. They gave you a Small Charred Oak Barrel, and two bottles of White Dog(Lightning) and you can age it yourself. Those would have been great little kits. I checked our database up here in alberta and they are no where to be found. I wonder if Scotch Guy knows.hmmmm

Yeah it was the Rock Town Barrel Aging Kit.

Sorry for the little Hijack. Back on topic
