Had lots of fun in Tallahassee at Market Square Liquor's Bourbon Festival taking place this whole winter. I attended two events, one with Jim Rutledge and one with Harlan Wheatley. Great events where you can get up close and personal with the master distillers. It also provides the opportunity to visit one of Florida's best stocked liquor stores with many selections hand picked by their barrel team. Highly recommended to stop in.

Well that looks pretty fun. I'd love to chat up Wheatley and Rutledge and talk about the business and what they do. Thanks for the photos.

Shopped there all the time until I moved to Oregon at the end of 2006. Does Barry still work there? (wouldn't be surprised if he's retired by now)

I end up at FSU about once a year, and I usually try to drive so I can load up on their barrel picks. Being able to try everything in the lounge is fantastic.

Thanks, Joe. It's always spirit lifting (literally) when you and Rob pull up. We also got to spend Jimmy Russell's 80th birthday with him back on Thanksgiving week. We are blessed that these distillers are willing to share their time with us. As a side note, they also really appreciate what groups like SB mean to the business.

Got a pic from a friend just today of the Bourbon Festival banner out front. I may make a trip over in the next month or so. Any recommendations of store selections? Ive never had less than exceptional from there.

Send a msg when you're coming, jon. We'll meet up. Too many to go over. Or, hook up with Barry in the store. You can try most at The Lounge next door.
