I know I saw the EW '86 Single Barrel - yes the '86 - in New York City two weeks ago. There are two large, discount-style liquor stores across from each next to Cooper Union (or Square, i.e. at about 7th and Broadway) and I am almost sure it was at one of those. Saw lots of odd items like that on that trip, e.g. Park Avenue Liquors on Madison had Green Spot, three bottles in a corner of the interior window display (straight on as you walk in), looking almost as if left by afterthought. I had a bottle of that two years ago and thought it was about the best whiskey I ever had in my life. At 100 dollars, it is worth the price, IMO. Green Spot bottlings, a true Irish pot still, can vary in taste, but all of it is very good and some bottles are sensational.

I don't think behavior like that has any place in any kid's sport. I would report it to the league officials and, if no action was taken against the jerk, I don't believe I or my kids would be back.

Intense competition is fine. Lousy sportsmanship is the exact opposite of what the kids should be learning.

No, Ben Thank You is more like it. Your hospitality was so generous and welcomed. We all felt it and the breakfast you had made was by far one of the best meals I have had in a long while. I have to get some recipes--> yum.gif !! I had a great time with some friends who made this birthday by far the best in a long time. The entire day was one I shall treasure for a while. Might I add, Whisk(e)y was a welcomed addition to our crew. ((I mean the cat shown in Mark's photo.)) SO, here is great BIG thanks to Ben, (I will savour every sip of wine that you & Tonya gave me) Nancy and Bob (who lovingly have enriched my 'other' beverage consumption drink.gif,) Cliff(who surprised me with some Four Roses), Omar and Katia and of course Mark.

PS: One other thanks go to my Southern sweeties who wished me a happy day-->Bettye Jo, Terese & Erica.. I had tears in my eyes from the emotion.

toast.gif Here's hoping that this kicks one of the best festivals yet!

There's a college in that town? I was in Salisbury to attend my uncle's funeral last June, but really, I thought it must only have a population of about 5000.

Actually the population is around 25,000. Click below for an article pertaining to the school.

about Salisbury

They recently won the Division III Lacrosse championship held in Baltimore. The students also spend their weekends

at Ocean City, Md....not bad cool.gif

The rest of the year its toast.gifdrink.gif

I just returned from my trip down to Alabama for my grandmother's funeral. I sure hated to miss out on all the fun. You should have seen me Saturday before my flight making up gravy and laying everything out for Ben as much as I could so the show could go on. I wouldn't have canceled this get together for the world. It was so nice to come home and hear the stories from Ben and see your note and gifts on the table.

A smile was brought to my face when my uncle told me that my teetotaler grandmother was bragging to all the nurses at the hospital that her granddaughter was one of the 50 best bootleggers in the country. But I didn't laugh no where near as much at that as I did when I come back and read through this thread about all the crazy cell phone calls. smilielol.gif REMINDER: When imbibing, have a close friend take your car keys AND your cell phones. lol.gif

We sure hope to get down to the Festival.

Tonya,

Our condolences on your Grandma's passing. You were certainly missed on Sunday, but Ben did a hell of a job! bowdown.gif As I'm sure it is obvious, we had a great time. We'll see you at the next NYSB.com Crew gathering, and ya gotta come to KY!!!
