Weller 12 vs. MMCS

I'll give Weller 12 another shot assuming it isn't gone already again. Possible I got a bad batch. The bottle I had wasn't bad, just not what it once was.

Yeah, I need to swing by Spec's and pick up another bottle or two.

I've waited a while before posting my thoughts about the actual comparison between the two. IMHO, it seems a bit unfair to compare these two. True, both are wheaters, but one is 90 proof, and one is a cask strength. They're both in the same ballpark, but one is in left field, and the other is over the wall in the right field bleachers. Both are good. They both also have their supporters and detractors as well. It just so happens that I have bottles of both open at the moment. For those of you that just might happen to have bottles of both open as well, you might want to try a little experimenting. I have. A little Weller 12, and a little MMCS vatted together. Hmmmmm. :yum: Y'all might find it pretty interesting. :grin:

Since I started this whole mess..I know it isn't exactly apples to apples. There is an elegance and refinement in MMCS that just isn't in at least this bottle of W12, and I don't think it is just the proof difference. MM has a lower barrel entry proof and I am sure that has something to do with it.

I will have to try the vatting..just about time for a trip to the store.
