R-Savage
I'm looking for some information on this little gem. I stumbled across it while searching liquorconnect. Does anyone know more about it?Here is the website for more informationhttp://americanbarrels.com/The packaging looks amazing. Here is some more information on the bottlehttp://www.designdirectory.com/user_files/company_files/related_documents/6529_opnXZy8BHwtXDRA0esXr52DGF.pdf Edited March 10, 2015 by R-Savage supplying more information

amg
The website claims it was distilled in Charleston, SC, and then later implies that it was aged for 10 years. There is no distillery in Charleston, SC that was operating ten years ago.
Tucker
"We drink our bourbon because it tastes good, not because it has been sitting in a barrel for 10 years, and after you take your first sip of American Barrels, you’ll be in awe of how good our bourbon tastes."They have to be sourcing from Terressentia. shoshani
The website claims it was distilled in Charleston, SC, and then later implies that it was aged for 10 years. There is no distillery in Charleston, SC that was operating ten years ago.No, just the opposite, but confusingly. It claims that the whiskey in the bottle is young, but that it tastes good despite not being 10 years old. "American Barrels is a younger bourbon, but don’t underestimate it. We drink our bourbon because it tastes good, not because it has been sitting in a barrel for 10 years, and after you take your first sip of American Barrels, you’ll be in awe of how good our bourbon tastes."Unrelated to the above, their website follows that with this bit of hyperbolic :horseshit::"We filter our bourbon through a unique post-barrel ultrasonic refinement process creating a taste profile its shelf mates only wish they could achieve. Not only does this system results [sic] in great bourbon to sip, shoot, or mix, but it also alleviates the burden of wait time in production allowing us to meet demand without problem or delay. Another perk is that this system essentially distills any potential hangover right out of the whiskey."Yeah. Gonna go polish Pappy's "No Chemists Allowed" sign and then find some Booker's to drink instead of this.
Richnimrod
The bigger the story the more skeptical I am of what's inside the bottleFor Sure!!! I will however, state right here, right now, for the permanent record; "That is a very well-designed, well-executed bottle... clearly the marketing and design folx at this firm are competent. However, at this point I won't search out the brand, just to own the bottle, for I greatly fear that the whiskey inside is not the equal of the container." dcbt
This thread should be tied into the one that asked about NDP crap... Edit, just saw they do claim a young bourbon so maybe it's not NDP.

GaryT
I just want the bottle - that is a very cool looking bottle. Looks like it is mainly distributed to bars/restaurants, but if the price isn't insane - I hate to admit that I'd buy it just for the bottle . . . but I would
mark fleetwood
Terressentia's site lists many awards since 2008, but I can't get it out of my brain that (given their company name) their covert internal company slogan must be "Soylent Green is People!"
