Hey folks -- Been off the grid here for a while, but I've got a question. Headed down to the Big Easy tomorrow, for a few short days (and hopefully long nights). I have a good list of where to go to drink, but I'd also like to stop by a few liquor stores, if there's anything worth visiting. Someone told me Rouse's is good, but of course there are lots of them. Any store in particular? Anywhere else? Thanks, Clay

View Carre is right in the French Quarter on Chartres. Seems like there is something else in the nearby area as well. Not a huge selection but sometimes you find something interesting.

Everybody I have asked says Martin Wine Cellar also has a decent liquor selection as well but I have never made it to one of their stores. The nearest one to downtown is out in the Garden District I think.

Clay the Martin's downtown is the original but it's small compared to their other store out on Veterans Hwy. Also on Vets a few blocks up is Dorignac's Grocery Store which has the largest selection of whisky and the best prices in town. Between the two is the drive through Daiquiri place if you're so inclined.

Rouses has decent selection. I found a bottle of Herbsaint there and they had Sazerac Rye as well.
