Is there any way to verify that information aside from Drew coming on here and verifying it personally? No, there isn't. So that piece of "intel" is pointless.

Just going with what I heard. No harm done. If it you happen to try recent batches and notice there is a marked improvement, then that isn't "pointless".

Older? Older than what? It's NAS, isn't it? What percentage is older? How much older? Etc. Etc. Etc... So yes, unless Drew says something explicitly, it is pointless.

I retract my statement about it being pointless. It's not. The point of someone at Willet saying that to "BourbonTruth" is get him to pass it along to his Twitter & blog followers so that they will be more inclined to buy Noah's Mill.

Well, we come on here and speculate all day about stuff we don't know. That's part of the fun. Some of it we can verify, some of it we can't. Is all of this pointless?

Often times stuff gets worse, sometimes it gets better. And we try to figure out why. I haven't even had the newer stuff yet. But I'll give it a shot - if it's better, then great; if not then it will probably be a long time before I buy it again. Around here it's about $10 cheaper than Booker's, which means I could buy a Noah's Mill and an OHHBiB and still have a dollar or two left over. I may regret spending $ on Noah's Mill or Booker's, but I will never regret spending $8 on OHHBiB.

his intel is always spot on.

Not always Slim, regarding Willett he is repeating what he was told and over the years they've been misleading more often than not. Members here take Bourbon knowledge to a graduate level and this is the place for an NDP to post if they want to be truthful to a receptive audience. Inaccurate or downright deceptive statements are quickly questioned and the fact that Drew no longer posts here is telling.

Some batches of Noah's Mill have been well received which is a testament to the distillery who actually made it but slapping a KBD label on the bottle does not increase the value threefold.

Speculating is fine, but you're citing "Bourbon Truth" as a reliable source.

Drinking the NM 14-86 ATM(only 2 bottles left!). It's good. Really good. But not as good as Booker's´(to me). Booker's is more consistent, and always brings you what you'd expect. Noah's is, like many have already stated, "a shot in the dark"/box of chocolates. I've never been unhappy with NM. The best NM I've bought was actually way beyond Booker's. But, Noah's Mill either lets you down a little, or surprises you happily.

I don't mind this, since both are my favorite bourbons, thus far. And I like the challenge of variation. But it could be less well-received by others...

Go for both!

Exactly, we are ourselves the best judge of what we like.

I revisited an open bottle of Noah's Mill I have last night again - it has been a while. I must say, I may have had an off night, but something didn't just click for me on it. It may have been the peanut smell I wasn't expecting (or had not noticed earlier) or something I nibbled on prior to drinking it. Either way, it just didn't do it. Does anyone else get a faint hint of that - or is it just me and my messed up nose?

Go with the Booker's - the vast majority tend to like it - Noah is hit or miss.

Most of the KBD products seem to have that nutty thing going on. I think that's kind of their "signature".
