What's your definition of high proof? I can find OGD114 for around $20, and that's a good one. If you're just looking for things that are 100+ proof, pretty much all of the bonded bourbons are pretty good, as is WT101.

If you can still find the old packaging of OGD bonded, it should be under $20 for a 750. You might also give Fighting Cock a try. Prices vary quite a bit by market, though. Where are you located?

Fighting Cock is one of the top selling bourbons here in Columbia, SC especially during football season. Many think it is made just for USC (lol).

If you are going to use it for mixing just see what's on the bottom shelve of the store/stores in your area and go with the highest proof.

I'd find out if any of the Heaven Hill bonded bourbons are available in your area. 100 proof and usually sub $15. Plus they are good sippers as well. Old Grand Dad 114 can be had for 20 bucks in some areas too.

Old Ezra 101 (7 years old) and Virgin 101 (7 years old) . . . both under $20 in Kansas.

Fighting Cock 103 comes to mind, but OGD 114, OGD BIB, OWA 107, Old Ezra 101 are all good option (although here in Atlanta, a couple of those are $25+ now).

Saw Old Ezra 101 on the shelf the other day for $17.99. FC is also sub-$20/bottle. Both good options for under $20. For $25, as others have said OWA and OGD 114 are excellent bourbons at that price-point.

There are a number of good ones but the choice usually depends on which are available in your area. Visit your locals to see what's there then ask questions here about what you found.

I wish we had those prices (aka that low of liquor taxes) in the midwest. I got a OWA tonight from a supposedly state min price store for $34 + 6% sales tax.

Assuming you in Michigan, unless they jacked the prices up this year - that's well over state min. I bought a store select OWA in Livonia around Christmas for around $25 (and my dad picked up a Handle for just over $50).

That sucks cuz this place has the best selection I have found nearby and it's the only place I have seen OWA... and I am 99% positive they had a state min sign in their window (but obviously that is no guarantee).

You should be able to get OWA for $24.99 and WSR for $19.99 in Michigan.
