Going to London/Paris (Need advice)

I'll be in London and Paris in the early summer, and since I'm just starting to realize how much bourbon/whiskey in general is out there, I wondered if there's anything I should look for while in Europe. I don't have a lot of experience outside of bourbon (or even inside of bourbon ), but I've really enjoyed the Japanese whiskies I've had, if that helps as a point of reference.

Are there any batches of good bourbon that make it to Europe but not the US, for whatever reason? I'm not looking for Pappy Van Winkle 78 Year - Special Queen of England Edition or anything, but if Heaven Hill puts out something weird outside the US, I'd be interested.

Off the top of my head I would say that Blanton's offers a few variations outside the US, the Gold and Straight From the Barrel. In Paris you need to visit La Maison du Whisky.

Spent time in Ireland, Germany, Switzerland, and Italy last summer and didn't see anything worth buying....not that I could afford to buy anything after my wife maxed out the credit cards.....:slappin:

Yeah, I figured there probably wouldn't be too much, especially on the bourbon front (given that 'Murica is its home), but I figured I'd make sure I'm not missing anything. I also don't plan on having that much left over for spirits, sadly!

I think you could look for: Blanton's barrel proof, age stated Wild Turkey, red label Evan Williams ... I also recall hearing about some limited edition stuff just sitting on shelves overseas. Let us know if you find anything good.

I too am headed across the pond in a couple months. I would love some age stated Turkey but I am not holding out a lot of hope for bourbon gold. I too will post any interesting findings if in fact found!!

I will be hitting England and Ireland in June, I will def be on the lookout for some good limited edition stuff. I figure if nothing else I can come home with some Blanton's Straight From The Barrel. Good luck with your hunt!
