Blanton's bottle 38, dumped 4-28-15, barrel 498. Such good bourbon for a high rye.

Despite it being the higher rye of the two BT rye-flavored bourbon mashbills, it still has very low rye content. I'd never call it "high rye".

Nice. Can I ask what the prices were?

I grabbed a few bottles today due to boredom. 2 on the left I haven't had recently but enjoyed and the 2 on the right cuz I am loving the open bottles I have of each currently:

Nice selections! I like the Fighting Cock and EWBIB when I'm doing some drankin'. When I want to swirl some bourbon and sniff it a bit, I like the other two.

(Drankin' is defined as doin' shots, mixing cocktails, pouring with ice and water and generally just havin' fun and not paying a lot of attention to hints of mahogany and leather. )

Bought an OBSK, bringing my collection of the FRSB recipes up to four (OBSV, OBSF, and OESQ being the others). If anyone in Atlanta is interested in finding any of these, PM me and I can tell you where I found mine.

Chatting with the owner was interesting because he wasn't sure if they would be doing any more store selects in the future. He said things were a lot hotter the previous 3-4 years but his bourbon business has been down lately.

Picked up a 9 year Old Scout yesterday. First time I've seen one of those (the 9 year, that is, not SAOS). Haven't tried it yet, but I've never had a SAOS that disappointed. Some are just better than others.

Picked up a bottle of Four Roses Yellow label ($20) and WSR ($17). I haven't tried any Roses or Wellers before and figured that these would be good starting point to their respective lines without breaking the bank.

I picked up two bottles of WT101. 14.99 each. Great stuff as a base for blending.

I found a new retailer today. Almost on my way home from work. Just a little bit out of the way. I picked up a fifth of Knob Creek $31 & Bulleit for about the same. Bulleit was on my short list, none of the other stores in my area carries it.

They also had a good selection of Texas Whiskeys I haven't tried. I'll be going back for a them.

$14'99? ...For a 750? That's a fabulous price! For a very reliable Bourbon. Good on ya'.

We get the shaft up here. That is almost half our state min on that bottle.

While visiting Boston I was able to pickup my auction purchase a George Dickle a 1964 bottling. The original Star Trek TV show used one (without labels of course) filled with colored water as "Saurian Brandy"

and a Barter House. I did pass on the VWFRR at $1,100.

I decided to pick up a bottle of OGD 114 and give it a try. One of many exuberant words I muttered..."WOW!" I have passed on this many times because I had tried the standard OGD, and wasn't very impressed. Many on this forum rave about this stuff but until now I thought it was just hype, I know better now. I decided to pour some FRSmB to compare thinking my tastebuds and sniffer were mistaken, and I actually preferred the OGD 114. So I have to give it up to those who bravely steer members to this beautiful $24.99 bottle of liquid goodness.

Respectfully, -BE

$13 per 750ml WT101 is everyday price here in Southern Ohio. EC12 $20, Blanton's $50, FRSB $35, MM $29. And I thought these prices were kinda high, lol.

You just cemented my plans for a trip south thru IN, OH and maybe into KY this summer/fall to fill up my trunk.

I purchased two bottles of the latest release of ECBP. This is quickly becoming a top 10 favorite of mine.

Picked up a couple more Stagg Jr. Batch 4 (132.2) at $49.99, and a MMCS at $54.99.

Until I open up one of the Stagg Jr. Batch 4, I am assuming that at .1 difference, it will be similar to the popular 132.1 Batch 3, and early reports seem to be positive about Batch 4. As to the MMCS, although I am very much enjoying the one 375 that I have, I had told myself that I would not buy more due to having plenty of OWA 107 and HHSS around in the high-proof wheater realm. Well, that didn't last and I wanted at least one 750 around. It's good stuff--can't deny that.

Picked up an OWA and a Johnny Drum Private Stock.

I've been wanting to try the Johnny Drum for awhile and it's only the second time I have seen it around here.

Added another 1792 private pick to the bunker, and decided that as long as they have cases of it, I'll try to snag one every couple of weeks until they run out, or I run out of room (a real possibility!)
