petrel800
I've found some old bottles before, but mostly bottom shelf stuff. Excited about this one, got to taste an older Bakers at the gazebo a few years back and it was an amazing pour. Neck fill seems to be a little low, but over all no cloudiness in the bottle and the cork looks to be in decent shape. For $43 it was worth taking the chance. clingman71
Picked up the newest TPS J Bowman this weekend. Haven't bought one of these in a few years, hopefully this release is as good as the last TPS J Bowman I purchased.

tanstaafl2
What is TPS J Bowman?A barrel pick from Bowman done by The Party Source in Bellevue, KY across the river from Cincinnati. The John J. Bowman line is the Bowman Distilleries single barrel bottling. I would guess that is what is being described.

Wondering if the older stuff is different.
Bourbon Envy
Happened by my local liquor store that was closing. They had all their booze 50% off! I picked up a handle of Old Fitz, AA, BM, and a bottle of Bakers. At $10/handle, I figured why not? Respectfully, -BE

petrel800
Nice grab. You'll like that one!Well considering the argument about getting the bottle down from the top shelf behind the counter I had with the gentleman that did not speak great english, it better be. Ha!"They are the same, why you no want the one in front? I have to get bigger stool to get that one."

Kyjd75
Something I haven't had in awhile. Noah's Mill. Batch 15-35. And, it is exceptionally good. I may go back for another bottle of this batch.

I've never had any older Bakers, but even the current stuff has impressed me more and more (that is as I drink some of Big Rich's every chance I get ) Look forward to living vicariously through another GBS'er on this one! Richnimrod
I caved to the begging of my favorite retailer and brought home a bottle of Maker's Mark Cask Strength.I like Maker's OK; but find it over-priced, therefor haven't had any on-hand in over two years. This CS, depending upon whose opinion one chooses to honor, is either a fabulous pour... or a highly ordinary one.I guess I shall find out, if I EVER get over this sinus infection, which limits my smelling and tasting to about 10-20% of normal.... And, my palate isn't that swingin' even at 100%. HA!

My one taste at the tour was ok, but not worth what they were asking (but I think the retail release may have come within range of reality). And, my palate isn't that swingin' even at 100%. HA!I can sympathize on the sinus infection. I had my first one in a few years last week and it wrecked my palate. I am just now getting over it. For me, the choice of trying MMCS was easy because I received a free bottle when the initial batch of 375s came out. I don't really care for regular MM and find MM46 only slightly better. In fact, while I will drink them at a bar, if it is all they have and someone else is buying (e.g., work), I will probably never buy a bottle unless the price is extraordinarily cheap. However, I really liked the initial batch of MMCS and have bought more bottles myself. All are 375s. I hope you enjoy the MMCS as much as I have. I would have never guessed that I would like it as much as I do given my "meh" attitude toward MM and MM46. kcgumbohead
Grabbed 1 local store select and then went back for a second considering that these are going away. From here on out it will be standard 4RSB for me, not exactly a bad thing but its fun to taste around the various barrel selections.

jfw
This month I have purchased a case of Weller 107 store selection, 3 x BT store selection, IW Harper 15, 3 x CR Monarch (which must have been dumped in MD because it was available for $30) and a CR single barrel rye store selection. The Weller and the Monarch are the definite winners. Wife is pointing out the bourbon purchases on the credit card, so I'm going into hiding for a while
