suntour
Interesting day in my bourbon journey - I lurk reddit's bourbon forum and they did a FR barrel selection - OBSO. I've been looking forward to getting a couple of bottles both because it finishes my FR recipes quest, and interestingly it was distilled on my birthdate in 2004. Well, I missed it and was sort of upset about it, but on a whim dropped into a total wine on the way back home. What do I find? OBSO. Even with the soaring high price, my wife bought it for me for Father's day. Score. It is a high proof version whereas the Reddit pick is rather low. Hopefully someone will want to swap samples so I can highlight the similarities and the differences.

jasmorg1075
Wasn't going to do it, but caved on I W Harper 15yr for $55. Bought it mostly for the bottle, not expecting much from the bourbon especially after buying some decent stuff yesterday.

Numismaniac
Oh man.....Glengoyne 21!!! Glengoyne is my favorite Scotch, but the oldest I've tried is the 17yo. You'll have to let me know how it is.I collect more than I drink. Pretty medicated from my health issues. I've considered getting another since it actually LOOKS good. You know how sometimes you can just tell.Might be awhile, We're still renting while rebuilding after a fire, I'm planning on having a tasting party as part of some home opening gatherings. I'm into good cigars, as well.
GaryT
Talked myself into a private selection of Buffalo Trace after sampling it last night. My last bottle of BT was pretty grassy, but this has a lot of cinnamon; quite nice!

silverc
You guys are a bad (or is that good?) influence. What was a small bourbon collection has ballooned exponentially as I learn about the world of Bourbon. I took a road trip this week from VA->WV->OH->MI->OH->KY->TN->VA. 1700 miles of the open road. It was long, but I got to stop at 20 different stores, including the The Party Source in Bellevue, KY and the Liquor Barn in Lexington. The prices are so much cheaper outside of Virginia and I was able to pick up a big haul of stuff not available in VA. fozzy71
Nice haul. Interested in your thoughts on the grass widow. I thought I liked it early on but towards the end of the bottle it was just too sweet and fruity from their finishing method.
