This month I have purchased a case of Weller 107 store selection, 3 x BT store selection, IW Harper 15, 3 x CR Monarch (which must have been dumped in MD because it was available for $30) and a CR single barrel rye store selection. The Weller and the Monarch are the definite winners. Wife is pointing out the bourbon purchases on the credit card, so I'm going into hiding for a while :)

I was shocked that I was looking at Stranahan's Snowflake on the shelf down here Tampa.

are you having a party, an alcoholic or just a hog?

Is there a correct answer?

That is an oddity indeed. Sounds like someone reselling a bottle (probably a jacked up price as well?) because supposedly it is only available at the distillery. Which of course is in Denver, not Tampa!

Maybe it is a bit of a jest since you rarely see snowflakes of any kind in Tampa! In the 6 years I lived there it happened only once and only for an hour or two.

A large chain received 3 bottles at 3 bay area locations. They did not last long.

Some extra spirits along with the bourbon.

Oh man.....Glengoyne 21!!! Glengoyne is my favorite Scotch, but the oldest I've tried is the 17yo. You'll have to let me know how it is.

Jealous, dare I ask how much the platinum cost?

About $50. The Black was $20.

In a moment of weakness I went on a bit of an NDP run this week. Taking one for the GBS team so you don't have to soil your dignity buying nasty old NDP's at absurd prices!

Picked up the Jefferson's Groth wine cask finish which I got to try at the recent International Whisky night and found enjoyable. The MMCS and Barterhouse are replacements as that is the Orphan I like the best so far. And that I.W. Harper bottle sure is purdy! Time will tell on the contents....

came across ETL and Saz Rye... cried a little when it was $45 for ETL when I got it for $40 earlier this year and Saz Rye was $37.... I still got one of each tho, would have grabbed 2 of the ETL had it been cheaper. I had passed on the Saz Rye at $40 at another store too.

Ahhhhh, never admit to these 'weaknesses'.... Just say you were overcome with the sudden rush of adrenaline to find these nice bottles! ...And I'm sure they are nice. My fave also of the 'Orphans' is the B'House.

I do like that IW Harper bottle quite a bit. I may even buy one just to have the bottle as a decanter afterwards.

How expensive is that IWH15? That bottle looks a lot like the cheap decanter I got from amazon for my last pours vatting (which is finally full and ready to sip on) - http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B002IT6X4I?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00

Seems to be typically around $75 or so here. It is a pretty hefty feeling bottle so should make a decent decanter.
