Coop776
Headed to Philly for a meeting and was wondering if there was anyplace that had an exceptional selection of bourbon to choose from. Thanks in advance!
pooch
Ive only to been to one, Bank and Bourbon. I walked out thinking I had a better selection at home but it wasn't bad or anything. Also, this was before Pappy was released in PA last year.
Lloydman
Village Whiskey is my favorite and it was listed in Top 60 Bourbon bars in USA. 80+ bourbons with some pretty rare ones. The food is limited but amazing too as it is owned by an Iron Chef winner - duck fat fries with short rib and a Whiskey King burger with foie gras. It can get crowded so call ahead to put your name on the list. Shake Shack is across the street if you want a cheaper burger or hangover food. Also across the street is an excellent Gelateria. If you are south of downtown, I had a great experience at Lloyd near the Italian Mkt. Great bar food and I finished their bottle of ORVW10.There are a few others but I always end up at VW when in Philly.
Coop776
Thanks. I looked at VW, but am travelling with 2 vegetarians so was thinking about the Bainbridge Barrel House. Ever been there? Looks like a great selection.
SBOmarc
Lloyd is in the Fishtown section of Philadelphia. The bar just south of the Italian Market is called Stateside. You can't go wrong either way.
t44tq
Village Whiskey is a good one, but since it is a burger place, not a place for vegetarians. They do make a decent veggie burger as long as they're not vegans and don't mind eating with people that eat meat.Stateside is another good spot, they have a great selection for such a small place- south philly is a pain to find parking, though.Time has a great whiskey selection. If you don't mind smoke, Ashton has the best whiskey selection of any bar in Philly that I've ever seen. Nothing like some bars in other states, but probably the best whiskey selection in Philadelphia by a long shot.
