CaskStrength77
Weller 12 is a very sweet bourbon, without much burn.
amg
I've thought about introducing friends to it recently, decided on a 6 item range. White dog (BT), wheater, high rye, true rye, tennessee, and limited edition. So as a simple first bourbon, I would suggest either a wheater (Maker's Mark or Weller SR), or a a higher rye mash bill (ETL, OGDBIB, FRSB). Then add in the other, and/or a TN (Dickel #12). Once you have those 2 or 3, see if your taste pulls you toward more wheat, or more rye.

garbanzobean
Why 4R yellow over small batch?I can't speak for the person you directed the question at, but I personally like FRYL better than the Small Batch, though I happily drink just about anything Four Roses puts out. squire
I suppose starting with the standard Four Roses Yellow label is a good reference point to learn what they can do by blending together all ten recipes. I prefer the Small Batch but that's just me.
