bourbonfoot
At one point I had a similar goal (not that aggressive, but along the same lines - trying to keep it under 20 while representing various categories). My head is hurting just trying to determine if I could only have ONE top-shelf and ONE bottom shelf . . . what do you pick? That sounds like another thread!Man, going through this thread made me realize maybe I have too much open. I've got to have at least 40. Most of my bottles get opened to try when I get them, unless it's a duplicate of something else (unless I'm comparing batches). Better statement is what ISN'T opened; a PVW 20, ORVW 10, PVW 15, 5 or 6 ECBP, 2 Stagg Jr, 1 HHSS, a couple ETLs, a couple EC12s... Maybe that's it? I gotta inventory. Enoch
I made a vow that I'd only open a new one after I finished off a bottle. Just a guess, but I probably had about 35-40 open bottles at the time. Now I have at least 60, counting ryes - probably more. So much for that vow.At least I'm not buying them faster than I'm drinking them anymore. Oh wait . . . I still am.I've said that many times...the problem is that I can't wait open every new bottle as soon as I get home. (Sometimes I don't even wait that long. Bought a bottle of HW Bourye Tuesday and decided I was going to set it aside for later. Stopped off at River Rat Brewery on the way home for a beer or two. Got to talking with Drew, master brewer. He had a new bottle of Laphroaig Quarter Cask, so we got them both out and decided to imbibe. Barely made it home.)
