dSculptor
I never run out of KC.. just a down right perfect bourbon for me...when I go down to fla. for my fishing trip, I know I can get this anywhere... Neat, splash of water , on the rocks, or with some coke, the all around perfect bourbon, although I was just watching the best bars of Louisville, and out of all the joints(at least 3) they featured OF SIg.... I'll second that!
flahute
i dont think well see that. Beams proven once before that theyd rather let the shelves go bare than drop KC's age statement.
kallaskander
Hi there,as recomended I put the question to Beam directly. As it was possibly a German thing I contacted a key account manager of Beam Germany.A bit perplexed I was asked to send in a picture which I did.Today I was informed that inquiries at Beam USA were answered that yes there have been slight changesto the label but the content and age and quality are the same. And because of that the EAN number is the same. And that is the case for the whole world, not only Germany. That begs the big question why?If I was an ill meaning person - which I ain't - I could say there is a long plot in the working.First the prominent big 9 disapears to be replaced by "aged nine years" in red print. Now the red printing moved to the right but no longer mentions nine years of ageing... but we are told nothing has changed after we asked what is happening. Changing a label might not be that expensive, but doing so twice in short time...Should something change in the bottle no one will notice from the outside. Many will wonder what they have in their glasses tasting so differently.I pointed out to my contact at Beam Germany that Knob Creek went NAS with this "slight change" and that something like that is frowned upon in circles like ours. I'll keep you informed if an answer to that arrives.Greetingskallaskander
squire
Thanks for the effort kallaskander, as for Beams response actions speak louder than words.
mrfat
I like KC but usually pass over it for other choices @ $28. A grocery store did blow it out at $15 if you bought a case as they were the screw cap version. Couldn't resist that. Now they routinely have the cork version on sale for $20. Mr. Bourbon
I liked regular KC but the SB version is on a whole other level.
