MDBourbon
I will be in Nashville for three days next week. I may have one free night away from the conference. I would love to find a good store, hopefully a barrel selection of 4R or something else hard to come by in MD and maybe a nice place for dinner. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated. Hershmeister
If you are staying near downtown, then check out Midtown liquors and Frugal MacDougals. Both have good selections
signde
frugal didn't have any 4R private selections last time i was in there. i don't think anyone has had any barrel strength private selections lately actually. midtown mentioned in a newsletter they got in a private selection but it sounded like 50% OBSV. frugal and midtown are the two biggest stores near downtown. fine dining recommendations - husk, rolf & daughters, etch, city house. if you are by yourself you can sneak into the bar any of those places if you go early. nashville hot chicken is a thing, hattie b's is a good place for that. arnolds is awesome for a southern style meat+3 but open weekdays for lunch only. I'll just add the Oak Bar at The Hermitage Hotel is another great bar and one of the best men's bathrooms in the country. And I prefer Frugal over Midtown. risenc
If you're mobile, try Grace's Wine and Liquor in Green Hills (go out 21st Ave, and follow it after it turns into Hillsboro Road). They have a very good bourbon selection, and a very solid beer selection.

I am hoping to take a week off this summer/fall and head down to Nashville and Kentucky both.

signde
husk is the best in town behind catbird seat, IMO. glad you enjoyed it.i think the weller centennial was what i would have went for as well as it seems the best bang for your buck from those choices. i had heard sean brock had released some stuff from his personal collection to the restaurant but i haven't been to check it out myself because i was afraid of the prices. those didn't look as horrible as i expected. i think i'll head over there this weekend. signde
As far as interesting single barrels only available here, Woodland Wine Merchant just got in a 9 year Belle Meade cask strength single barrel. It's MGP sourced but pretty good. Should be similar to a SAOS single barrel. Speaking of SAOS, there are some cask strength bourbons and ryes floating around. Main Street liquors had a few last I was in there.

signde
heard good things about wild cow for the vegan/vegetarian folks. never even heard of the other place. on that note, husk has a very famous southern vegetable plate.
MDBourbon
The lady next to me at the bar had the southern vegetable plate, it looked great. I did make it to Froogal MacDoogal, nice store but the selection was not that great. I bought their Barrel Select of HM 10 BIB, they had a Jack Single Barrel Select, Dickle Barrel Select but no 4RSB Select. The guy I talked to was not very helpful, he said the "Bourbon Guy" was not there. May try another one on the way to the airport. heard good things about wild cow for the vegan/vegetarian folks. never even heard of the other place. on that note, husk has a very famous southern vegetable plate.
