Was cruising the website for VA ABC today and ran across this - pretty interesting to see what people are buying and the amount sold in one state. Gives a bit of insight into spending habits and is likely representative of the country as a whole. Glad to see there aren't too many bourbons in the Top 50

Fascinating information. Does this support the assertion that for distributors and retailers volume of sales is more important than price per unit?

Wow. I knew Fireball moved, but #5? I have never even heard of some of those vodka brands. Surprised Early Times is as high as it is. And no OGD is interesting. An interesting game would be to see how many of those brands SBers buy regularly. For me it's 2: MM and BT.

WT101 and BT are the only two off that list I buy semi regularly.

Green label Evan Williams makes the list but the standard black label thats everywhere doesn't makes me question the list a bit. Maybe its a Georgia thing, but I've never actually seen a bottle of the green label that wasn't on a store shelf, while the black is a regular feature at any gathering I've ever been to.

And for me Wt101 and I guess Baileys, I wouldn't say I buy it often but usually have a bottle on hand if folks want it for irish coffee.

I wondered about the EW Green too. If the sales list include sales to bars and restaurants, EW Green might be used often as a popular well bourbon.

Wow, that is pretty interesting. A whole bunch of vodka on that list which is not too surprising. I am very surprised not to see ANY single malt scotch whisky on the list. Also surprising is the Early Times. Can't say that would be the most affordable IE cheap whisk(e)y to drink regularly for me. I would love to see this list for each State.
