I was cruising the TPS website the other day and happened across this:

I've only shopped at TPS a few times, but I remember the first time I was there, it was John who helped us out, and I remember thinking that this was clearly a salty dog with a great dry sense of humor. He's a cool guy to talk whiskey with.

Many of you on this board have probably been buying whiskey from and talking whiskey with him for years, so I thought it would be appropriate to share this fundraising effort for his battle with cancer here.

Many of you may have already seen this, particularly Cincinnati-area members and theBourbonGuys.com site also memorialized this week. I never knew John by name but we spoke several times as I was getting into bourbon. Easy-going, friendly and always helpful. It's clear from comments that he made a positive contribution to many peoples everyday lives.
