dSculptor
Just thought I'd show you guys my bourbon tree I found growing on my driveway, actually...I had a customer want me to make him one of those wine bottle trees, when I was done I said why not a bourbon tree? So I put a few empty's on it....
Kartofel
That looks pretty cool! That seems like a good way to show off cool bottles after the whiskey inside is gone.

fishnbowljoe
Pretty cool Don. A number of years ago, I saw a "bowling ball " tree in a magazine. I though that would be a good way to use some of my old bowling balls. My wife put the kibosh on my idea pretty quick. :skep: I really like your idea of a bourbon tree, but I know better than to even bring up the idea to my wife. dSculptor
l always thought those wine trees were kind of goofy, but I'll make just about anything a customer wants. Joe ..I do like the bowling ball idea though, you would really have to have some heavy duty branches to hold those. I have some pretty cool bowling balls around the yard and some in sculptures, they look pretty cool. I always wanted to make one of those perpetual gizmos with the steely's that hang and you pull one out and it keeps on hitting the others, that would be really cool with bowling balls...it's on my list someday. I saw an article about uses for old bowling balls in a USBC (United States Bowling Congress) magazine a few years ago. It looked like the tree trunk was probably about 2 inch tubular steel. The branches were probably 1 inch. Looked pretty sturdy to me. Another guy posted pics of bowling balls cut in half. He then used them to line the walkway from his driveway to his front door. Needless to say, my wife wouldn't go for that. I wanted to cut all my old bowling balls in half and place them on the 45 degree angle hill at the back of our yard. Wouldn't have to mow it that way. Again, my wife didn't think too much of that idea. What can I say? LOL
