What is your favorite bourbon worth?

All of my favorite bourbons and ryes are less than $50 and there are too many to name. I guess that's why I always have so many open because I really enjoy different pours.

Seems to me that $12 OHH BIB and EW BIB are "worth" about $25. Booker's, one of my favorite bourbons, goes for $60ish in OH but $40ish in other states. So I never buy it in OH. I guess that means it isn't worth $60 to me but I am willing to buy multiple bottles at the $40 price. ETL, like many bourbons, has been creeping up in price and now sells, theoretically for north of $30. I say "theoretically" because my local merchant has been out for more than a year. I keep telling him that when he doesn't have it he should sell it for ten cents.

I have so many favorites that I don't really tolerate a price increase on any one of them very well. To put it another way, my "favorite" bourbon tends to switch to a different bourbon when prices change.

I couldn't agree more. There's a few favorites that I'll tolerate increases for. But, for most whiskies, I'll start looking elsewhere if the price increases much faster than inflation.

They'll never get ahead of me, good gin is cheap and I like martinis.

I do have a favorite bourbon, but, I won't go there. :skep:

I have kiddingly said a number of times in the past, that my favorite bourbon is the one in my glass. What's it worth?????

It's kinda like those older Master Card commercials to me. "Baseball-$5.99. Baseball glove-$35.99. Playing catch with you son-priceless."

That's kinda the way I feel about bourbon. "HH 6 yr old BIB-$11.99. 2012 WLW-$79.99. Having a pour in the comfort of your home while listening to some good jazz, or sharing a pour with some friends-priceless."

It always tastes better with some good tunes and great friends/family. Right on Joe

Yeah, well, if it isn't the one in my glass, it's the one I'm going to pour next.

Honestly for me, in spite of rolling shortages, fluctuating prices (KC for $22? I've been loading up for a month and I don't drink it much), and mixed reviews on the Orphans, I can always find a favorite on the shelf. Weather hot? Find a wheated. Rich food? Grab a rye. Breakfast? Pour some hated brand of bourbon in the coffee and add sugar to taste - think coffee Old Fashioned. As Joe said, it is all priceless.

My favorite bourbon is GTS and I'd happily pay $150 for it all day long. I know some (maybe most) won't agree that its worth 2x msrp, but with what other bourbons are getting priced at in todays market, its a steal.....if you can find it.

GTS is also my fav. but I don't think I'd pay $150 for it , if it came to that, usually I can get it for MSRP.. and I'm ahead of the game with a few in the bunker and 1 on the shelf, and I intend on keeping it that way. Otherwise I'll take a handle of KC SmB all day long @ $59.99.

I recently revisited a GTS 2002 I had stashed away. Wow, what an eye opener. My all time favorite for sure. Or at least in the top two. A price? I think it was $75 when I bought it years ago. Based on recent events, I'd guess a full sealed bottle today at auction would go for $1500.00.... If I were offered a bottle of it now I'd pay $250 without thinking twice.

Of current offerings, the last ECBP 140 proof I picked up was pretty darn good. $55

2013 OFBB at $35 another top tier

Late to the party on this one...

Most bourbons I drink are in the $30-$40 dollar range per 750. That said - I would gladly pay up to $100 for a known favorite (ORVW 10/107, FRLESmB, etc) even if that is more than MSRP. Once it gets over $100 - I start to lose interest.

I still think for top shelf pours the companies are trying to package and price like scotch. I have stopped buying scotch single malt all together because of price. Which means I have a lot more to spend on bourbon. Been stocking up on ETL , 4 Roses and Beams "small batch" . But for the price to me its either OGD 114 or BIB OR Four Roses yellow or small batch - that's going by price alone.
