Henderson family lawsuit

This is unfortunate:

The widow of Angel's Envy bourbon creator Lincoln Henderson says in a lawsuit that her son has “effectively stolen†her share of the proceeds from Angel's Envy's recent sale to Bacardi Limited.

Cecilia Henderson, 71, claims her son Wesley Henderson has not shared information or proceeds from her late husband's interest in a company that owned about 10 percent of Angel's Envy when the brand was sold to Bacardi in March.

“Mrs. Henderson deeply regrets having to file a lawsuit against her own son, but she must protect Lincoln's wishes and her own rights,†according to the lawsuit, filed Monday in Jefferson Circuit Court.

Awww, Jeeez. Where lots of money is involved, it's a rare family that can keep all it's members from getting greedy.

Sounds like Wesley may be a pretty petty, and avaricious fellow.... but, we only hear Mom's side of the issue in this presser.

Who knows for sure? Wouldn't it be nice if they could get along and come to some equitable distribution of the proceeds?

I agree. We don't know the whole story (or at least I certainly don't) and I for one am willing to give all parties the benefit of the doubt here for now. Hopefully this can get resolved in a quick and more private manner to everyone's satisfaction without turning into an ugly side show.

“When Mr. Henderson received word of the complaint filed against him by his mother, Cecilia, he was both surprised and extremely saddened. The complaint includes numerous inaccuracies and misinterpretations all of which are baseless and defamatory. These claims all seem to be influenced by outsiders looking to capitalize on the family’s recent success.

“Since the time of his father’s passing Wes has been working to ensure that the successes of the company continue well in to the future. Wes has remained committed to resolving any issues with his mother and providing for her future.â€

Thanks as well for the update, Wes is a stand up guy. I have quite a bit of respect for the man and all that he has done for his family. I have met him in person a few times and personally know some of the things he has done and endured.
