Nosnum
I am from Michigan but will have a short business trip at the end of the month. The good thing is I am driving so I will have plenty of space to bring home bourbon I cannot get in Michigan! Is there anything out of the ordinary available? Also, is there a website for pricing? What does BT, ER10, FrSmB go for?Cheers!
Madhatter
Plymouth IN is a pretty small place. I would normally say that your chances are better in the burghs you drive through on the way. However, Plymouth is not very far into IN from MI. So you might want to do a google search of liquor stores in the towns along the way. Anything that looks promising, call them about what you might be interested in.
Nosnum
I'll be traveling through Fort Wayne. I was more interested in allocating pricing and availability of things I cannot get in MI.
amg
I'm not sure what the selection is like up north, but there are a few things available in Indiana that aren't in Michigan. HH6BiB, Old Fitz BIB, Larceny come to mind, but there are probably others. Prices on things that are available in Michigan are probably better in some cases, but there is a wide range of pricing from one store to another here. mbroo5880i
OK, Fort Wayne is a different story. Cap n' Cork is a great store. The stores on Coldwater or Jefferson are your best bets. I have found some interesting things there (e.g., ECBP). They put most things on the shelf. The prices are good and they have pretty solid barrel selections. Belmont Beverages is decent. They also have stores all over town. I usually hit the one on Dupont or Jefferson. S&V Liquors (another chain) sometimes has interesting things. I ran into ETL there one time. I usually go to the store on Dupont.
suntour
I can vouch for BB's Four Roses OBSV as well.
fishnbowljoe
I've driven the US 30 corridor across northern Indiana numerous times. Merrillville, Valpo, Plymouth and Warsaw on my way to my sisters house in North Manchester. Most stores have the "usual suspects", and either none, or not too many offerings of higher end/specialty releases. Most of the places I've stopped at have been independents, so prices were a bit spotty. Some good, some a bit high. Unfortunately, I just never had enough time to make my way up to Fort Wayne. A bit of friendly advice here. Make sure you have phone numbers for the stores you want to visit, and call first. On my way to my sisters last year, there were a couple of places I stopped at again, just in case. It turned into a waste of time because they'd closed. Good luck on your trip. Let us know how you make out. Cheers! Joe
PaulO
.. What does BT, ER10, FrSmB go for?Cheers!BT ~$20, ER10 ~$30, FrSmB $20 - $28. Remember IN has NO Sunday sales (unless it's a drink in a restaurant or bar). Some grocery or pharmacies are worth checking out for deals on not too rare stuff. If you can't get the Heaven Hill made bonds in MI, that's what I would suggest, plus Larceny.

Nosnum
Thanks for all of the replies. The only time I've had a chance at Larceny or Very Old Barton BiB was when I was in Chicago earlier this year. What's the going rate for HH6BiB?
