Some Stagg Jr 132.2. Love the heat and the finish. Like eating a chocolate.

in honor of this I poured a glass of batch 1 134.4, so tasty. can't wait to get to batch 2 and 3 I have bunkered.

In Vancouver for business for a bit, so not much to choose from here, but my nightcap has become a double KC neat after some grueling 12-14 hour days. Lather, rinse, repeat.

i was literally in total awe when I saw it on the shelf last Friday. Picked up 2 bottles. $50 couldn't argue with the price. And they also had EH Taylor barrel proof on the shelf too. Yes it was an expensive trip. But loving it. The Stagg sneaks up on you thought.

Downshifing with pours of Old Forester single barrel and Evan Williams 2005 SB

Vancouver BC? (There's one in Washington too.) If so, yep......that's a tough slog. Are you seeing any Wiser's products such as Legacy or the 18yr old? That might be your best bet.

And to add on some Pure Kentucky XO. And pours of Old Weller Antique to close out the night.

Old Fitzgerald BIB. ... bought it January 2010. Layin' up in the bunker since ... My first pour ever of this expression, ... strange since I'm sure it's been around forever, at least since prohibition. . ... Good nose, sweet but not too sweet, rich. ... nice rich wheater, good bourbony mouth coating. Leather, mint, a little road tar in the August heat. Horses, hay, no, Wheat! of course, ... caramel or toffee, bitter cocoa at the end. Damn good, ... lessee ¥2280 about $25 when I bought it, about $19 now with the strong buck. Either way, good ... damn ... deal. ... I'll hoist another for the souls of Hiroshima.

Hey, Ed. Good to hear from you! I hope things are well. Please check in more often!

Started off last evening with a newly opened OESV. Good of course, but definitely needs some time to open up a bit. Then moved on to Weller 12, which was excellent as always.

Yea, BC. Hotel bar has MM, KC, and JD. Liquor stores have a few more options but no half bottles (and I hate the idea of wasting bourbon!) I thought about going with the When-In-Rome theory and getting a half bottle of some Canadian whiskey but I'm not a big fan so I never did. Maybe next week, though.

Last night had BT Single Barrel Select, EWBIB and Virgin 101 . . . EWBIB was the star . . . it had a richness/fullness that made it stand out.

I'm sipping on some FR 125th SmB. It's been a while since I've had this, forgot how good it is!

Started with OF Sig, followed by a few chocolate covered almonds.

My current situation... three fingers from a freshly cracked 4R private selection SB.

Had my third or fourth pour of OWA last night. Still doesn't do anything for me, though I will say that the lingering smell in my glass this morning was fantastic.

Went out with the fellas after work to the local across the street from the office. It was a pre-birthday celebration for myself and a colleague who have the same birth date. (It's actually Saturday but I'm taking Friday off so we where forced to drink early). We discovered we had the same birthday last year and started the tradition of an after work birthday whiskey then.

As is also tradition, we started with OF Birthday Bourbon. Lucky us, they had the 2011 on the shelf mistakenly listed at the 2014 price. Good thing for us because that 2011 is expensive now. ($45 a pour!) I followed with RRSiB and OE7yr 101 proof.

The highlight of the night was seeing my fellow birthday celebrator try his first ever pour of Handy Rye. Seeing the eyes get big and then getting asked "Where can I buy this?".......He had a Baby Saz later so at least there's one he can go out and buy.
