I feel like I've seen several people refer to Stagg jr with an age statement recently (or maybe just you multiple times hah). As far as I know it's assumed to be 8-9 years old but there is no statement - or did they actually add one to the bottle? Been out of touch up here in Canada for a month but that would still surprise me.

My bottle of batch 4 (132.2) Stagg Jr does not have an age statement, however, the label states, "...this robust bourbon whiskey ages for nearly a decade...", ok.

On topic, last night enjoyed a BT Single Barrel Select followed by EWBIB . . . both tasty.

To play devil's advocate, some marketing genius could say, "let's round to the nearest decade with some verbiage, so one day over 5 years counts as 'nearly' a decade." :)

I had a long and busy day yesterday, so I'm kicking back today to make up for it. I'm having a nice pour of PHC Wheated along side my coffee this morning. :coffeedrinker:

A big salute to Will for the inspiration.

Cheers! Joe

Good call Joe, I'm a little jealous, right now, but tomorrow morning is only about 12 hours or so away. I'll make up for some lost time. I really enjoy my bourbon in the AM when I can do it safely.

Will, I have to give you credit for the same thing. Last Sunday (for the first time in the AM) morning I had some William Larue Weller before I had my cup of coffee, (and church). I don't know if your taste buds are just that alert first thing in the morning, but that was the best William Larue Weller of ever had. My wife told me I could not go to church with bourbon on my breath, I told her I would just sit on the back row....

Thanks Will

and tonight I'm having some ER 10y

Makers 46 over a couple cubes. I continue to impressed with what a different whiskey MM has been able achieve with the finishing step.

I went with Larceny since I just cracked a handle. I have 2 more fifths of MM46 in the bunker I will enjoy once I get around to them. I will enjoy them even more knowing I paid $20 ea for them on sale in IN instead of the $40 they cost here in MI.

End of a long stressful day, so I grabbed the bottle easiest to get my hands on. Booker's Batch 1-2015, Big Man Small Batch.

Sarcasm? Or I guess you didn't see the thread I made? It was earlier this summer to visit a friend and fill my trunk/bunker at a discount.

I like it when Joe gets a little 'liquored up'...it can get entertaining. Gotta remember Foz, he's stepped up to the 46 tonight, so it's probably taking hold 'bout right now!

Did you seriously think anyone could have missed that?:bigeyes::slappin::bowdown:

Joe, you should join me for a nice fat pour of 4RSB! :toast:

After some random higher/premium barrel proof pours I am trying to kill off the 06 EWSBSB. If you have a choice, please pick anything older/before this.

Just poured an ECBP #5. Letting it air out a touch while I ponder hosting a tasting for some friends later this fall or winter...

I'm still working on it ;), 'cause I get to work from home tomorrow!

To honor the occasion, I'm finishing off with a little dab of ER101 circa '84. :yum:

Lloyd, thanks for the feedback. For what it worth, my wife doesn't give her stamp of approval either, but the bourbon does taste better in the early AM right after the dental care. Will

This morning I enjoyed a little paper labelled OWA from 07. Good stuff, why didn't I buy out the area when it was available?
