I want to end my summer with either Old GrandDad 114 or Elijah Craig 12. Hell, who am I fooling, I know that I won't be leaving my store next week without both of them!

Atta boy! Way to get back into it! Those are staples.

Started with ER17, moved onto Octomore 6.3, ate an amazing steak, and finished with LP (which still tastes like cherry Robitussin). It was a damn fine Wednesday.

Some Russell's Reserve 10 and Rare Breed while watching that Ghosthunters show at the Wild Turkey distillery. Awful show, boring. But the whiskey is great.

Enjoying some EC12/Larceny (50:50) and I'm having a hard time finding many faults with this blend.

Oh wait, here's an issue... The dang bottle seems to be getting emptied way too fast!

I've been back and forth between OF Sig, 4RSB and OGDBIB the past couple of evenings. Sticking with small pours while my palate remains in exile, 'cause I am not a n00b. ;)

Bueller? Bueller? Bueller? :searching:

How's the OGDBiB compared to OGD114 (if you have had it)? For the price I may get a bottle, but was just curious.

GD12, 1792 and a pour from my #lastpours decanter so far while munching on some Krave Pork Jerky - Black Cherry Barbecue. First time trying this flavor of the brand. Tasty stuff. Not as good as the sweet chipotle flavor or the garlic chili-pepper beef jerky if u like extra spicy. Another good brand if anyone cares is Epic jerky but those are a bit more 'meaty'.

I like them both for different reasons. I try to always have at least 1 bottle (or more) of each on hand. The BIB (or any BIB really) makes a nice fridge bottle for those hot dog days of summer.

OGDBIB is a solid pour and stacks up well against other BIB's, but with that little extra bit of rye in the mash that I do enjoy. ODG114 is a value added, one of a kind, spice and chocolate bomb.

With the price of admission, you really couldn't go wrong if you were to punch both of their tickets!

Weller 12 with a couple of friends this afternoon. Light and airy, but a bit dry and woody on the tail end. Nice as a change of pace from all the cask strength stuff I've been drinking and this seemed dangerous in a different way - the kind of easy whiskey that might lead me to repeat-pour once or twice too often. Ended up giving the bottle to one of those friends, just 'cause it's Wednesday.

Tough night - Blanton's neat, then KC neat, then after a walk across the street to a sports bar, BT neat. Cab home, of course.

Oh boy do I get it my man. My palate was in exile for about 2 weeks and is only just now showing hints of coming back. I started with BT tonight and it was good, but not at the level I know it can be at. I'm following with HMcKBIB and dang, if this is not the first time this has tasted really good to me. Don't know if it's because of the partial palate or if I'm finally just getting it.

Finished off an WTRB and ended the night with EHTBP. Not sure I'm be buying another EHT BP... its creeped to almost $80 a bottle here and I can find way better pours IMO for cheaper.

Steve, I do believe that the sinus pressure from the onset of allergy season is my main culpret. Hopefully, I can find an amicable solution other than awaiting the 1st killing frost of the season.

Until then, I'm probably going to have to stick to value BIB's. Oh well...

The BOTM EC12 to begin then going to W12 to compare the two

After that you should mix an ounce of each in a glass imo. EC12/Larceny makes a nice mingle so I expect it would do well with W12 as well.

Had a Willett 6 YO Rye based Manhattan before dinner. Now having a pour of a freshly opened bottle of Weller 12. don't know what it is, but tonight it is hitting every note I love about bourbon. One of the most enjoyable pours I've had in a while.

Just goes to show there are fine bourbons to be had under $30.
