Happy Birthday Fozzy :toast: . I'm about to have some chilled FRYL.

I really need to try this but shy away from 80 proofers anymore. I came close to grabbing a bottle a few times this week. Sipping some OGDBIB I put in the fridge earlier today now.

I, too, am having OGD BIB. Finishing off a bottle (which had less than 2 ounces in it). What's next . . .

Happy Birthday Foz, I'm having some RHF for you. As your attorney, I advise you to come up with a fozzy birthday blend. It seems you have opened a few new bottles tonight. Cheers

You may have had a few too many before posting industry news... 1 out of 3 ain't bad.....

It's all good now Fozzy. I fixed that thread in the Industry News forum. What can I say?

FWIW, my wife and I were up a little later than normal last night. My son and his wife had a function to attend, so we had to baby sit our grandkids. Today ended up being a very long day at work for me. It was around 90 degrees here, and our warehouse isn't air conditioned. I was the "fix it" man today. With my old boss now gone, I ended up being tasked to clean up and fix all the problem things he hadn't bothered to take care of the last couple of weeks or so because he's headed to Ohio. I also stopped at the bank on the way home from work and paid the second installment of my property taxes. Oh, and it was garbage day today. I had to take the garbage cans and recycle bin out when I got home. Did the dishes too, because my wife also had a long day, and was going to be late getting home from her work. I finally grabbed a pour and got on my computer and was trying to do three or four different things at the same time. Multiple windows open on my computer answering emails, pm's and trying to check things out here on the site. I also had to answer a couple of texts and phone calls on my cell phone in the mean time too. I'm actually pretty happy that I only screwed one thing up. What's your excuse? :skep:

Sorry about the thread drift and being so blunt, but this site doesn't run itself, and those of us tasked with taking care of it also have jobs and personal lives too. It seems that some of y'all seem to take that for granted at times. Nuff Ced. :soapbox: Carry on. :893drillsergeant-th

Cheers! Joe

Sticking to cult approved whiskeys, I'm into a thick pour of 12yr old OBSK and it is just lights out. It's good to be back.

hehe, I have been in the past on non-work related sites, and am a moderator/admin of a forum for my day job, and work from home, so I know all too well how easy it is to make those types of copy/paste mistakes while juggling 3 or 4 things at once with 20 or 30 browser tabs open. Just giving you a hard time while enjoying way too many pours.

Last night was a visit to a store select 4RSB that I have hit in awhile, a spicier variant on the OBSV scale. I was beat and that small pour was the perfect capper for the day. Tue was a Smb LE 125th to toast JR in retirement.

I finally went back to ER after finishing off the last bottle months ago. wow, how I've missed it. I know some people are mixed with ER, but it's definitely one of my favorites. I also had some 1792SW, which tasted better to me than the first time I tried it a month ago, but the ER was the highlight of my night.

Have a quiet house to myself for a few hours. A quasi mental health day - I had to meet with an insurance adjuster this morning. When they left, I needed a drink. Forged Oak. Need to eat a little crow here. After quite a few months open on the bar, I am finding a lot to like here. Up front sweetness, touch of oak and burn. Vanilla finish. On the more simple, straight forward side, but I'll be reaching for it a bit more often. Can't say if I'll get more, but I am enjoying this.

Opened a Dickel Rye last night to give the MGP 95% rye a whirl on the cheaper end and was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed. Went back for another.

Then finished the night off with Beam bib.. its quickly becoming a go to pour at my house.

My wife and I went out for her birthday last night. Stopped for drink before dinner, a place that has a very good selection. She's not usually a bourbon drinker, but actually ordered an Angels Envy Old Fashioned, so I thought I'd get a cocktail too. They had a Sazerac on the menu. Asked what whiskey they used, and was told it was Old Overholt rye and WT101 bourbon. I thought Sazeracs were just made with rye - preferably with Sazerac, which they actually had - but so be it. I asked to change the rye to a High West Double Rye I spied on the shelf, and they obliged. Very tasty.

Not long before leaving I spied a chalk board with "rarer" pours that weren't on their regular drink list. Some didn't strike me as rare at all - Old Forester Signature? But amongst other tasty offerings they had THH ($25), Saz 18 ($12, which I thought may have been a misprint) and CEHT Cured Oak for $15. I asked about the Cured Oak. Bartender checked and said they were out, had only gotten one bottle. At least he had the decency to wipe it off the board at that point.

I may be heading back soon to find out if that Saz18 is really there. Didn't see it on the shelf, but we were way on one end of the bar.

Finishing my "wheater night" with small pours of OWA and my small leftover of Weller12. Weller 12 wins, but Fitz12 and OWA are pretty close for me.

The ladies in the house have banished me to the garage for the time being, because I am being "disruptive" while they try and figger out some ridiculous calculus thing on Littlesmokinjoe's homework. Fine. So, I rooted around some stray boxes out here, and lo and behold, I pulled out a pilfered sample of barrel proof ETL from our GBS barrel selection a few years ago. Oh my...:yum:

Four hours from now...

Yes dear, I AM sleeping in the garage, and this IS a bottle I'm snugglin' with. What about it! :D

Nice pour of 2011 OFBB to celebrate my sons birthday. I do enjoy these birthday bourbons. I wish the price wouldn't keep going up on them.

Enjoy your night in the garage, smokinjoe.

Thank you, C. Luckily for me this garage also houses a fridge. And, said fridge cools a bottle of HH BIB 6 yr. Actually, luck has nothing to do with it...
