I think you're going to get your chance. It sounds like he'll be doing the odd promotion tour as it pleases him. And I get the impression it pleases him.

Is it me or does that article state that 4R distillery was built from scratch in the 2000's. I would think a newspaper in KY would have gotten this right

I think it probably should more accurately say "rebuilt" rather than built but I don't know exactly what was there already in the early 2000's. I am sure someone here does though!

According to Al Young's book the current distillery was changed to the 4R name in 1994, after having done business for a long time as Old Joe and Old Prentice distilleries. Jim Rutledge became MD in 1994. Seeing as some of the SE's have and have had 15 and 16 year old distillate, they were making bourbon since before 2000 and definitely way before 2005

Ehh, the columnist usually writes more about the bar scene in Louisville so I can understand some of the inaccuracies, I really enjoyed the anecdotes.

The current Four Roses distillery was built in 1910 and began production in 1911. Hence the 2010 release of the "100th Anniversary Four Roses Distillery Building" LE SB.
