GrPeMi
OK...so I was browsing the price sheets for next month on OLCC's website (does this mean officially that I've become obsessed?), and I saw this little number:8935B A $129.95 $389.85 ELIJAH CRAIG SINGLE BARREL BOURBON +$72.00All I know is that the "B" at the end of the code means it's a 750ml bottle, selling price is $129, 3 bottles to a case (case price is next column) and this entry is $72 higher than the last time it was in the system.Does anyone know anything about a single-barrel release? Could this just be a poorly-described entry for the 18-year? Just curious...The price list is effective Sept. 1, so somebody in the state is gonna be carrying it, whatever it is, this month. JDSmith619
The 23yr EC just hit KC at the exact price...
GrPeMi
Maybe...but EC23's already in the system at $199.
JDSmith619
Sorry I read that wrong, I thought it meant 129+72 for ~$200.
VAGentleman
This could be the new 18 year old
amg
The 18 year has always been a single barrel, so that makes sense. Disappointed to see it >$100 though.
flahute
Pretty sure that's the 18yr as others above have said. It's been fairly widely predicted that it would be around $130 when it came out so that's not a surprise to see.
Tony Santana
Yeah, that's too bad if true. EC18 was one of my earlier "premium brand" bourbons that I bought. Really liked it. I've still got an unopened bottle of the old stuff. Strongly doubt I'd pony up $129 for the right to buy it again (never say never?).
GrPeMi
Yeah...don't think I'd be willing to go for it, unless it was a-ma-zing. Problem is, by the time the bars get it on their menu to taste, it will probably be wiped out in the stores by the wolves...That, and who knows what the bars might charge for it... kjbeggs
Was hoping it'd be <$100, but since I never got any of the older 18's, I'll probably spring for one.Plus, by the time it hits TX, there should be some reviews here to go off of.
dcbt
Plus, by the time it hits TX, there should be some reviews here to go off of.I know that's right. I love the 21 and 23 but also never had the 18 so i'll be down to pick one up.
Scotch Neat
I can buy 5 bottles of EC12 for $130.
The Black Tot
I enjoyed the original (in Malaysia, of all places) but for $200 it's got to be better than GTS and WLW. I'd buy it at 75 or less, which of course it was never going to be. Fortunately for my wallet I'm not too hung up on the EC profile.
mosugoji64
The original 18 was a delicious steal when I could get it at Costco for $35. The most I paid for one was $65 well after it went extinct and I was comfortable with that. As much as I adore the 18 I just don't think the new price is doable. TunnelTiger
Since the ECSB is now $99 here I would expect the 18 to be closer to $150 when it arrives.
Hop
It's listed on the NC ABC list this month at $129.
Charlutz
I saw the ECSB barrel strength on a shelf yesterday here in maryland for $120. It is a 12 year and I didn't have my glasses but looked like 139 proof. Edited August 30, 2015 by Charlutz
BFerguson
My how times have changed. At the end, could be found in my neck of the woods for around $45-50 a bottle. While it wasn't for everything, due to taste and age, for me, it was a favorite, but I'm a whore for old whiskey. I'd be game for a bottle to try, need to compare it to what it used to be. Hopefully they keep the same packaging, I always did like its styling. B

dSculptor
$129.99 for 18 yr.?....yikes, while this was one of my all time favs, not sure I'd spring for it at that price, I got one open now about 2/3 full, been scrimp'n on it for awhile. Wish I had that stash ... Bf, I'd have one open all the time!
