Quintilian
A couple of pours of HH6yrBiB. I picked up a few bottles when I was in IN.
dcbt
I could be totally wrong but I think SB blend was supposed to resemble Weller Cent. after it was discontinued. You are correct.
Flyfish
Baker's. Still kicking myself for not getting several more when Louisville Costco had it for $32.99.

fishnbowljoe
Having a little impromptu sbs of Stagg Jr batch 3 and batch 4 again. I'm gonna stick by my original assessment of these two. Batch #3 has more subtle flavors and is a bit more rounded around the edges. Batch #4's flavors are slightly more apparent, and it seems just a touch hotter. Both are great.Cheers! Special Reserve
PHC 4, the last little bit of one of my absolute favorite whiskeys of all time, in honor of my first sons arrival home. Now that's a great pour. I long for the days when they were on the shelves.
Hop
Forgot this bottle was open so I'm enjoying a PS KCSB. Noticeably hotter than Bookers at lesser proof
Flyfish
SAOS SiB store pick & FR OESK SiB store pick. Both are very good!Somebody explain how an SAOS store pick works. First, SA picks a barrel from their source and then the store picks....what exactly?
amg
Somebody explain how an SAOS store pick works. First, SA picks a barrel from their source and then the store picks....what exactly?SA sends samples of different barrels of MGPI bourbon that they already own. They don't cherry pick them from MGPI when they need them.
fozzy71
It's a night for sub-100 proofers: Having a pour of Larceny after a pour of BT:114 at a 3:1 ratio (96 pf). Out on the counter for later is Valentine's Woodward, AAA10* and Batch 2 StaggJr:BT @ 1:3 (99.7 pf).
BFerguson
Finishing a long opened bottle of Old Heaven Hill "Very Rare Old" 8 year, I am getting corn, vanilla, barrel char, spices---not bad for $9.99/750 ml. Moving on to Henry McKenna BIB now.Man I miss this. It was actually pretty good, better than its price suggested. Have two left in the bunker for nostalgia.B
flahute
Starting the evening with one I haven't visited with in a long time - HHBIB6yr. Man, what a great bourbon for the price. Not as much of a bargain here in Washington State as it is for those of you with normal taxes, but still pretty dang cheap.

DonutsNBourbon
decided to do BT and then ER10 to see how similar they taste sbs since they are supposed to be the same mash. BT tastes more like CEHT to me, more of a cola type of taste and ER10 the caramel seems to be more apparent in the nose and taste to me. both were delicious

DonutsNBourbon
I like them both too but ER10 quite a bit more since it's just a more refined sip and it has none of the slightly distracting old cellar/cut grass flavour that I get in BT Finish. OldDrinker1978
VSO Fitzgerald 12. A great alternative to Weller 12 if you ask me. Less sweet but great aged wheater!

Less sweet but great aged wheater! The Old Fitz 12 is one of those that is getting tough to find and seems to be going up in price as a result. Now has a fairly limited distribution in Kentucky and not sure where else, if anywhere, it is distributed (Wisconsin and Illinois I seem to recall). Practically a dusty outside of KY at this point it would seem and not that common in KY.

Not real old ones, but had been there a while!I want to do a SBS with Weller 12. Had 5, but just knocked one out. Supply on that is dwindling. The only store to received Weller 12 around here this year got one case. Not much.
johnnybogey
Depends. If the Mets are winning, something nice. If losing, I'll probably being throwing back some JB right from the bottle.
Hop
Agree with all the recent comments on VSOF 12. It's hard to find but I did hear that it would be in the HH Gift Shop in the fall... I've got a couple bunkered and it's a very good pour.Tonight I have started out with "tasting" size pours of Blade and Bow 22, Barterhouse 20, WTMK 17, and IW Harper 15, none have been a disappointment in fact while I didn't care much for WTMK when I tasted it a few weeks ago I find it much better now...
