MO Tigers lose (not really surprised) and then the Blues lose so after a long day cleaning to get the house ready to sell some SAOS BP is going down quite nicely.

Had some fine pours of Stagg Jr , Blanton's Straight from the barrel and Wild Turkey 101 8 and 12 Year last night with my Brother in law. He's not a regular Bourbon Drinker and his fave was the Stagg. I can see why...love this stuff (Batch 3)!

enjoy that MMCS :toast: . Killed off my FRYL, and my KCSB, with some BT114 in between.

I did. Finished with a a pour of KCSB myself, regretting that last pour this morning....

Last night we had dinner plans out so I squeezed in a pour of RR10yr prior to departure and it hit the spot. The recent palate reset seems to have benefitted this bottle (but you never know) as I was getting the best parts I remember from my first bottle of this earlier in the year.

At dinner, I enjoyed a pretty good Sazerac cocktail.

Upon returning home, I was still in a Turkey mood so I went with RRSB and if the palate reset benefit is true, it certainly showed up in how good this one was last night.

Finishing a long opened bottle of Old Heaven Hill "Very Rare Old" 8 year, I am getting corn, vanilla, barrel char, spices---not bad for $9.99/750 ml. Moving on to Henry McKenna BIB now.

Just poured a glass of PS WTKS after a day of work and preparing presentations for next week. Looking forward to the Panthers vs. Eagles in an hour or so

Small pours of HM 10, ER 10, old EC 18 and Cured Oak. All outstanding in their own right. I forget how good HM can be. The palate on th Cured Oak is so complex and is hitting all the right spots. Great stuff. Have given little effort to finding the limited editions this year and will enjoy what I have.

Having my first pour of Poor Man's Pappy

That's the SB blend and it was named that long before someone out there capitalized on the bourbon boom and renamed it 'poor man's pappy'.

After a ton of great whiskies with old friends last night, I'm just easing by tonight with a simple and good Buffalo Trace.

What is "poor man's Pappy"?

Same thing as SB blend, it was just called SB blend first. The blend was never meant to resemble a Van Winkle product so it's misnamed as "poor man's pappy".

I could be totally wrong but I think SB blend was supposed to resemble Weller Cent. after it was discontinued.
