Having my last pour of ECBP Hazmat. I got this for 44 bucks and the best value for the money. I am going to really miss this one. I get to go to the other end with 128 proof that is on deck.

Some Woodford Reserve. Not too shabby but it's too thin and yeasty for my taste. Though not bad. Moving on to some SAOS10.

Right now, having a pour of Elmer T. Lee. This one is very very smooth for the proof, and very tasty, just right. Glad to see this one available to me, picked up an extra bottle. Should have another real soon. Go Royals!

Having a small pour of Booker's 2015-02 to start tonight off right while re-testing a raven eidolon appendix in waist band carry rig for my glock 19 (gun is loaded with snap caps so I don't shoot my penis off) I haven't use in a while now that I lost more weight. I briefly had a flash back to my broken bookers cork from the first bottle and promptly replaced it with an old BT cork that seemed less likely to break off.

Man that Booker's was so tasty I decided to keep rolling with the high proofers and jumped up to near hazmat territory: ECBP Batch 8 @ 139.8. I stick to 1 ounce pours of the barrel proofers usually. Since most of what I have open right now is BP I will likely break that rule at some point to help hurry along the process of making more shelf space as the night, and this winter, wears on.

KCSB PS from Mammoth Liquors in Cave City, Ky.

Did they have anything else interesting? In only about 15 miles away right now

Stagg Jr. Batch 4 132.2. This stuff is so good, that it presents a real dilemma. I have one open, and two unopened in the bunker. There's just no way to know if future batches will be this good, but so far I've resisted going further on the stocking up. Tonight I'm getting popcorn on the nose that I get with GTS, but also lots of cherry in the nose and palate.

I moved on to batch 2 (128.7) of this and am loving it. I finished a batch 1 and have bottle each of batches 3 and 4 in the bunker. I am trying to force a buying hiatus on myself so even if I stumbled across more I would hopefully not buy any, but I will make these bottles last as long as possible enjoy every single pour.

ETA: RHF then some of my recent 3:1 vatting of BT:OGD114 fozzy blend now. This is definitely the ratio to go with IMO. Guess I need to update that thread one more time before the month is over.

For no reason that I can figure, I reached back into the bunker and pulled out a 1.75 of JW Dant BIB Distilled 1979 DSP KY 113 and Bottled 1983 DSP IN 2. It has been at least five years since I've had a pour. After letting it air for about 15-20 minutes, the nose released a bit of vanilla, ginger and a dose of peppermint. The legs on the glass were still great but the mouth feel was not as rich, oily or and thick as I remembered. The palate was nice with peppermint, a touch of cinnamon and something else that I can't recall (Bay?). The finish was smooth and with a moderate length. To my taste buds, there is not a bourbon on the market like it today. I'm glad I still have about 95% of a 1.75.

Had we known then what we know now. 'course value of a dollar back then was pretty high compared to today. would have been nice to have saved lots of those old treasures for side by side comparisons to today's stuff. would be nice to directly compare AAA 10 year to today's 10 star.

A wheater night. Started with some Lot B, enjoyed it, but then opened my 2015 WLW. Just let it sit for abut 20 minutes. Wow. Really enjoying this one. Small pours, but I'm on my third one. Has that burnt brown sugar thing going on that I really like.

Finishing off some Buffalo Trace before bed. Or might just fall asleep on the couch if I go for another pour...

Had a Stagg Jr. at one of the local bars after work. Not sure which batch, but it's taste was consistent with batch 3 or 4. Reminded me that I need to open one at home.

Now digging into some Baker's. This is really good. Now into the 3rd or 4th pour of the bottle and it is starting to sing. Not sure if it's oxidation or palate tuning, but it's settling into a sweet spot.

I'm feeling some RRSB next.

Nice notes ky. I have a 375 ml of the very same vintage of Dant that's been in the back of my cabinet for a few years now. Sounds like a great pour. Makes me want to open mine.

Cheers! Joe
