. ...... Next on deck though is a pour of BT:114 at 3:1 to see how it compares to this batch 2 StaggJr:114 at 1:3.

def not as full bodied as that stagg jr mingle but nice enough for the price. Larceny or AAA10* is next on the list I think. Might need more caffeine to reset my body clock fully but not sure that is wise this late at night after having a few pours already and drinking a few cups of keurig green mountain half caff coffee after dinner.

Just opened SAOS Single Barrel 8 yr at 52.8%. They may source but they do a great job of it.

And they are honest and upfront about it to boot.

...IW Harper. It was dark in the dining room when I reached behind the door and grabbed a bottle by the neck....

...some 1985 Fonseca Guimeraens port I found under my basement stairs...

Squirrels don't stash nuts as well as you, Harry.

Was in Memphis for a long weekend. The wife and I had plenty to do so we didn't get to Beale until our last night there - Sunday night. Ditched the beer when we got to Jerry Lee Lewis's club and had a couple pours of 4Rsmb. Met a pair of siblings (brother and sister) from London and shut down Jerry Lee's place. We all went up the street to the only place left with live music where we had KC and ran into some old timers who remembered the Andy Kauffman/Jerry the King Lawler feud. What a hoot! Haven't laughed that hard in a long time. (Check out the documentary "I'm from Hollywood".) The young guy from London is a passionate Scotch guy but was willing to try some bourbons. He works for a marketing firm that has Diageo as a client. I invited him to join our group. Hopefully, he'll join up when he and his family finish up their "holiday" in the US.

Sounds like a blast Dean .

I wouldn't say I was enjoying it, but, along with the help from a friend we made a solid dent in a bottle of Beams 8 Star. I can't say I would ever consider replacing it when it is gone, but, the bottle is needed for my Beam bottle collection. Shit, there are worse things than catching a buzz with a friend.

Small pour of VOB6 to kick off the evening and then I got a wild hair and went with ORVW10 and WLW'14. The WLW was hitting strong tonight. Capping off the night with WFE 11yr from Randall's.

The curling season has started again and last night after the game I wasn't the only one who brought out a bottle. There was a Jameson (didn't try it), some Costco scotch (thoroughly unimpressive), EWSB 2006 (solid, but unspectacular), and my store select 1792 and a little EC12/OGD114 blend (vatted just because I didn't feel like carrying two bottles back to my locker last week). The vatting was actually the star of the lineup, in my view.

Last evening, some Blanton's store selection, together with a chocolate chip cookie. Yeah, that was good.

I think that's the first time I've ever heard those words uttered. (Although when I was up in Vancouver in August / September the sports bar there had curling on TV. Slim pickings in the great white north...)

As a general rule, curlers are very sociable, and not adverse to sharing some adult libations.

Smooth Ambler Old Scout 10. Still pretty new to this Bourbon but it became a serious fave really quick. This is e v e ry t h i n g that I look for in a great Bourbon.

I'm not sure why it took me so long to try one, but I picked up an SAOS Cask Strength 10yr 52.1% yesterday. I didn't know they even came in cask strength with the 10-year age statement. I've certainly never seen it before.

$54 out the door? Wow. A level above the norm for this price. Just like you said, everything I'm looking for. Really, really tasty. I may go back and grab the other one they had.

Back hitting on a Jackie's FW&S PS bottle of 1792. Interesting selection in how the nose goes from the prototypical Barton floral and light cereal to a full bore spice bomb over the palate. Workin' perfectly on a damp and coolish evening.

Continuing to cut my teeth on everyday pours to really learn to appreciate the good stuff. Been alternating between jack daniels, Evan Williams and capped all off with a WTRB
