jaxn slim
BT has only one wheated mash bill, so I'm pretty sure it's not a case of how many barrels of Weller SR, OWA, ORVW, Pappy, etc… BT has aging. They're all the same. I've heard of two different scenarios with regards as to what goes to Weller, and what goes to Van Winkle. I've heard that Julian has his pick of the wheated barrels. I've also heard that specific warehouses, and/or certain floors within those warehouse are designated for the Van Winkle line. Like I said, this is what I've heard. Nothing verified at all. For all we know, they could do something completely different. Joe
Fantasm
was at a liquor barn in Lexington, Ky i went to the bourbon isle and looked and i showed my wife the only empty area in the large isle and said, yep thats where the weller was.. then a few seconds later the stock boy strolls out with 5 cases in a shopping cart. Lord have mercy! the customers mobbed the poor fellow. One guy wanted to buy a whole case. I picked up 2 bottles myself. that was 2 days before a pappy release event too. there were like 20 guys camping out already. cashier said they were expecting 250 bottles of pappy. Heck several of the stores didn't even have regular Buffalo Trace. I guess when the stocker is mugged before they can even get it on the shelf that explains things. Heck, I was even lucky enough to find several bottles of OWA. I guess it's all about luck and timing.
