As we wind our way into Thanksgiving, I thought I should give everyone here a shout out of thanks for a number of reasons. The photo shown is my...

Reason #1. Being relatively new to bourbon, I tended to chase the latest buzz I heard from friends and the local party store about the "best new thing". The SB Forum taught me to look below the top shelf. I probably wouldn't have sought out HH BIB for example (not available in my state) or many of the other BIB's you see here.

And it's been both fun and interesting as I hone in on what I like. Never would have known there was a bigger world out there.

Reason #2. The SB Blend. I happen not to care too much for WLW 12. But when you vat it with OWA, WOW. Not something I would have figured out on my own.

I could go on, but thanks and Happy Thanksgiving!

Now thats a lineup of bonded goodness!

As you are discovering, this is a great hobby to enjoy with family and friends.

Can round out your collection with a bottle of Henry McKenna 10yo BIB if you can find it in your area! Same mashbill as JW Dant, Evan Williams and HHBIB but a bit older and bottled as a single barrel offering at 10 years of age for a pretty decent price (at or maybe just under $30 last I recall).

Preferably the old "arts and crafts" bottle just because it is so damned peculiar!

How different are the hhbib and ewbib?

The HHBIB is 6YO so it has a little more depth of flavor. I drink more EW only because it is available in OH. But in 750s only. Even so, today I'm having HH.

I'm a bit jealous of that lineup, I have been trying to find various BIB bourbons of late. I like bourbons in that price range and find they will do whatever you need them to. I am hoping to procure a JW Dant this week. I'm still kicking myself for passing on VOB BOB early this year. I just didn't know enough about bourbon at the time.

Yeah, I like your line up. You could also try to find: JTS Brown, Old Fitz, Mellow Corn, and Rittenhouse.:toast:

Thanks for the input. I've seen Mellow Corn on my yearly golf trips to Kentucky --so I'll definitely give it a try -- but will have to wait until May.

Funny on the McKenna -- just picked up a bottle for an upcoming XMas party were a few of us are going to have a taste off of bourbons we've found around $30. Never had it before, so excited to see what's store!
