According to blogs, Maker's Mark has a wheat content of 16% and Bernheim is 51% wheat. Could this be a clue as to why I get a headache after drinking MM bot not Bernheim? Thank you, Sam.

It could be, but there could also be many other factors at play. I'm sure they use different yeasts, too. Corn and malted barley contents could be different, too. Then they could be aged for different amounts, but I don't know that either has anything hinting to an age statement.

Oh, yeah. Bernheim ADDED a 7 year age statement earlier this year (late last year? time flies . . .) when they redid the label and dropped the copper shield.

Sam it could be the house yeast or some other such thing, hard to pinpoint, easier to simply avoid any brand that causes that reaction. Fortunately there are lots more choices out there. Come to think of it the longer aging Bernheim gets may be the difference.

Mash bill probably doesn't have much to do with it unless you're allergic to something.
