What whiskey do you imagine (Han Solo) would drink?

In looking over my cabinet, which happens to be surrounded at the moment with Star Wars toys - I started to ponder what Han Solo would order at the Cantina (meaning, this is Episode 4 Han Solo)?

I think Han would go cheap for sure (he ain't spending big bucks on a pour; gotta save up to pay off Jabba still!)  He strikes me as more of a rye than wheater sorta scoundrel, and looking for the proof to be sensible.  Also needs to have a pour fairly regularly available no matter which corner of the galaxy hes in.  

My guess would be Knob Creek.

What whiskey do you think other movie characters (who haven't specified a preference on film already!) would go for?

I think he is more of a moonshine guy. Maybe ten high if he's got a date with someone with less hair than Chewbacca.

I don't think Han is a whiskey guy, he spent too much time with Lando drinking Colt 45...always gets the job done.

Han strikes me as a Gibbs (from NCIS) kind of guy so something cheap and readily available is what I'd go with. Something like WT101.

I don't think we can overlook the fact that Han was a smuggler. Are you telling me he didn't skim a little off the top as a form of payment? Now if he's buying for himself, it's something solid, reliable and cheap and found everywhere, EW BIB or OGD BIB, maybe.

But I have to imagine that somewhere, deep in the recesses of the Milennium Falcon, he has a stash of LE's and unicorns. He'll maybe drink one or two, but the rest are to grease the wheels, should he get in a jam.

For regular drinking, Han would be more of a rye guy than a wheat guy. He'd be into value and availability and it would have to be something on the strong side that says "I know my whisky." I think that narrows it down to just one choice: Rittenhouse Rye, BIB.

I'd guess he's a cheapskate... but when he went for the good stuff, he'd probably top out at Larceny.

At 90 years old, he probably drinks some turkey...and maybe whiskey too.  Chewy is a hairy guy so I suspect he prefers something that makes his coat shine.  So, he forgoes straight whiskey and opts for a Shiner Bock(a).  A Shiner Bock follow by a Jager bomb.

Since he eventually joins up to fight against the empire, I can see him with a bottle of Rebel Yell.  Hold the ice though, not a fan of cold after that carbonite incident.

Let's see, original Star Wars was from the late 1970's, so lots of whiskey glut gems to choose from.  Maybe Solo dumped the last load of S-W Rebel Yell.  That's why Jaba was so pissed.

Thanks for sharing those Mike!  Just when I thought my Death-Star ice globe mold made me a pretty big Star Wars/Whiskey geek, I feel like I'm still a Padawan learner  

I'm following that company - if they do get that blaster-flask or the lightsaber-flask made, I definitely want one!
